Could tell this wasn't doing well since it's already off the biggest screen in town, replaced by the Hunger Games and a couple horror movies.
It was okay I guess. Better than Ant-Man, maybe on par with Black Widow. Like BW I thought a flash back scene would have made a better movie. Enjoyed the fast pace and the sliver of character development for Carol Danvers. Could tell the writers were trying really hard to hit that MCU mix of darker themes with fun dialog. Didn't like the inclusion of Kamala who was only there for comic relief and a post credits set up. Third act was a bit of a mess going a bit too strange before a stunted climax. Felt like there was a better Captain Marvel sequel in here without the streaming baggage. Something like Carol dealing with the Kree Civil War while including the Monica origin story. 4/10
