Default Tsunami waves hit Japan after 7.6 magnitude earthquake

This doesn't look good, heart wrenching way to start the new year!

I still recall sitting through the early morning watching the 2011 Tsunami hit. That was dramatic.

The shaking this morning seen on video was dramatic, thankfully it appears the Tsunami wasn't as devastating.

I think the thread title should be changed. it was more large waves than a Tsunami. Earthquake looked significant though.

Looks like the tsunami warnings have been downgraded.

Pretty wild to think this island sits atop four plates.

Japan is simultaneously one of the safest and one of the most dangerous places to live. When it comes to crime and internal conflicts, it is a really safe country considering the size of the population. But when it comes to natural disasters, they're right in the middle of everything. Earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, tropical storms... I am not sure if blizzards, wildfire, landslides, or tornadoes are a thing there, but they have four of the big ones.

The Godzilla/Mothra thing is a nonissue these days. When one comes out, you just unleash the other one to fight against it. It's biocontrol, like when you put lady bugs in your garden to eat the aphids. Just on a slightly larger scale.

And then the mammoth typhoon waves wash away the victor.

It really is the perfect system.

Unanticipated? Are you forgetting about all the Godzilla related movies/shows out recently/currently? They've been warning us for at least a month!

But...like an Earthquake or Tsunami you never know exactly when its going to happen!

Its gonna happen, we all know that...the 'when' is whats key.
