this is obviously a total disaster for both the player and that organization, but I will always award bonus points to anyone who will give a quote referring to themselves in 3rd person. somewhere out there Mike Babcock is nodding in satisfaction.

Sounds like a frustrated young man. He is the type of player that Calgary needs. An elite C still at RFA age. Treliving should be moving heaven and earth to get this kid and then lock him up.

If we’re going to spend, it might as well be on the most important position.
I know we’re not getting him, and it’s embarrassing that we won’t pony up the cost.

I agree, man, but what you're giving up in that proposal is just an exorbitant amount. It shouldn't take a great deal more than Tkachuk to make a very competitive offer. But I agree... it's imperative to win this bidding war.

Chucky (because of QO), Monahan and an unprotected 1st would be hard for them to say no to and then the Flames still keep Zary, Pelletier and Valimaki to be somewhat competitive in this window assuming Johnny is re-signing. I think that beats a Laine package from CBJ to.

Its now sounds like it could a risky trade, how bad is his neck injury.
Neck surgery is scary stuff for sure.
Lots of factors to look at for any team trying to make a deal

I’m on board for going after Eichel and doing what it takes to get him. Even with the injury risk.
I have no doubt the Sabres are not dealing with him and his injury competently and the blame lies almost entirely with them.
But can’t overlook he committed the ultimate pro athlete cliche. Referring to himself in third person.
