Seems like the NHL could finally afford to pay for their own buildings or do they still need my taxes for that?
Yeah!!
Those taxes could be better spent on a defunct pipeline by Randy from the Trailer Park Boys.

I have some fond memories of Gary Thorne. I was in the US during the 2004 run and when at home I could watch the games through the Centre Ice package. But I had several business trips around that time and was absolutely zealous in making sure I was situated somewhere so I could catch the game on ESPN or ABC, depending who was carrying it.
I remember vividly the city and hotel I was in for games 5 and 6 against SJ, Saprykin's OT winner in game 5 and the double OT heartbreak of game 6.
Thorne is fantastic.

I think you’re right, with a wild card being CBS/Paramount+

With two US TV deals, the NHL likely gets their $600 million/year goal...huge for revenue for the league

I would assume that means she won't be around much for Sportsnet anymore

ESPN's NHL coverage will start a little early, with the Seattle Expansion Draft and the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
https://twitter.com/user/status/1409629729079140357
It sounds like it will be a joint ESPN/Sportsnet production with ESPN's John Buccigross hosting the draft with analysis from Friedman and Cosentino.
NBC's rights would typically have expired after the draft, but they chose not to cover the events due to their commitments to broadcast the Olympics, which start on the 23rd.
