Oh man that was a terrible crash. RIP Hubert. Ugh.
Takes the shine of Leclerc absolutely dominating qualifying by .75s over Vettel. That and 2 Merc engines and 1 Ferrari blew up. Cant recall the last time I saw 3 engines grenade themselves.
That crash was at the top of Eau Rouge / Radillion...he got t-boned at 260+kph. Hard to imagine it not shearing the rear end off (engine/tranny). So sad.
Reminded me a bit of Tagliani losing control and hitting Zanardi.
So I had a day off yesterday and I was close by so I decided to take a chance and drive down to Spa. First F1 experience and it was quite insane. I can’t beleive the crowd that came just for qualifying! Scalped a ticket and sat in the Verstappen grandstand, which was slightly intimidating as it was a sea of orange and I had my bright red Ferrari hat on. Lol. Everytime max drove by the crowd went crazy.
All in all it was just a lot to take in. The track is huge and just gorgeous. Took at least 45 min to get from the gate to the grandstand. I was surprised at a few things. You only get access to the stands you have tickets for, so can’t teally explore the track fanside. They also have walls and fencing up everywhere so you can’t see anything if your not in your seats. You could see the top of Eau Rouge on the way in and out but the crowd in that area was nuts as it was the main thoroughfare.
The crash happened just as I was about to cross the track through the tunnel. About 20 min later they announced the race would not resume so kind of knew it was bad but they didn’t announce anything at the track by the time I had left. There must have been over 100k trying to leave that place. It was over an hour and a half to get from the grandstand to my car.
Definitely going to have to try and take in a whole race weekend one day. The party vibe was strong and there was a lot to take in. The sheer volume of resources was hard to comprehend. Each factory team had 20 haulers alone.

Another solid and entertaining F1 race, especially with how sombre/tense everyone was with the passing of Hubert.
Driver of the day was Albon IMO with two awesome passes on Ricciardo and Perez. Took him half the race for the RBR to come alive, but he looked quite good.
Leclerc dominated all weekend. But I think they got lucky. He won by 0.9s and his pit stop was 1.2s faster and he had 4 or 5 laps of Vettel holding up Hamilton. I just dont know how Mercedes has such amazing race pace...yet at Spa they were 0.7s back in qualifying. I think Monza will be just as close.
Verstappen of old made an appearance at turn 1. Had a bad start and then his brain turned off and rage took over. Just a stupid and clumsy attempt to get around Raikkonen. Not too mention that he had to know his steering was F'd and he still pinned it up Eau Rouge before nearly taking out Kimi again and hitting the barriers.
KMag and Haas....lol. They honestly look as bad as Williams. He got passed every single lap at the end of Kemmel.
Have to feel bad for Norris...raced himself all day in 5th only to have his engine die on the last lap.

DoubleK had the top score of 64 and only picking 9 drivers (you had Sainz twice, but he didn't finish anyways).
3thirty continues to lead in the overall, but it shrank a little bit this week. He also maintained his lead in the total correct top 10's with a narrow lead over me and Jayswin.
Me and IronMaiden got the bonus points for fastest lap as well by Vettel.
Not the best correct top 10's for us as we were either 6 or 7. Stupid Verstappen.
Fuzz and GWE had a tough week...
As always, if I made a mistake let me know...next up is MONZA with the Tifosi and Forza Ferrari!
Spoiler!
