Well if dubnyk is only getting a 5th, then I doubt Rittich has much value.

If the return on Rittich is a 30 year old defenceman and a 5th round pick, we should just keep him

Dubnyk has an .898 SV% this year and had an .890 last year. I'd think he has less value.

Yeah that sets the bar for Rittich at a 5th and a cap dump.

Rittich also has had issues 2 years in a row and has barely any playoff experience. Think Dubnyk has more value.

Dubnyk has been garbage. Rittich should have a bit more value than this.

If Rittich is willing to take less than $2M per I would gladly re-sign him as the backup for next season. Love the guy such a solid character and a great backup in my opinion.

Debating who has more value is splitting hairs. This is basically the return for any Rittich trade.

Sure, but the #1 team that needed a backup goalie is off the list now. Which teams are left?

The problem now for trading Rittich is how many teams are looking for goaltending help? Toronto maybe? Waashington? Add in that teams will most likely look at Bernier first and I am not sure that there is much a of a market for Rittich.

Dubnyk has a far better history than Rittich

Well if the Flames trade him for say a 5th or 6th and offer him that contract in the summer...I expect he'd be a Flame at Training Camp. I don't think any other NHL team is giving him more than 1 in free agency.

If you get a 5th for Rittich, take it. What's the point of keeping him around? He is a UFA. Take the assets.

Flames seem to have luck in 4th round. Trade rittuch and a 5th for a 4th. To me on lower value players flames should look at this to upgrade picks.

Darn I saw Colorado as the likely landing spot for Rittich.
The dominos are starting to fall now, and I get the sense that Flames fans are going to be very disappointed come Monday evening with the lack of assets recovered from our expiring contracts.

If Rittich is going anywhere, I think it's Toronto.
Andersen injury issues, Campbell has been great but seems to be fighting through pain constantly and takes almost every practice off following a game. Plus Rittich has a history of looking incredible against Toronto specifically, so I bet they may have a bit of a skewered perception of him.
