It's kind of a tough situation. I just hope the Flames don't retain salary on any player getting traded. Cut your losses and take what you can get and move forward.
They are likely to move pending RFA or UFA’s so any salary retention will only be for the remainder of the season
It’d almost be better if Gaudreau was UFA next season because I think we’d get a ton of value for him as a rental this year. Might be an unpopular opinion
The only guys that simply may have value as rentals are Rittich and Ryan.
Folks have been speculating that a guy like Nesterov could be moved for a pick. Not sure there is a ton of interest in a part-time dman on one of the worst teams in the league.
Players going into the US dont have to quarantine that long do they?
Just 4 negative tests and good to go i believe.
I think the NHL mandated there must be a 7 day quarantine regardless, whenever a player leaves one team and goes to the next one. Testing is done on days 1,3,5, and 7.

I have a bad feeling that they won’t trade Bennett for the sole reason of the expansion draft. They will leave Gio and Bennett unprotected and hope they pick Bennett ( good chance they would) . This is not what I want to happen . I want pick for Bennett and hopefully Gio traded or picked up in expansion draft.

Bennett to i would think...there is no way they are QOing him so he is essentially UFA as well.
I've always hated how we treated the deadline. Aside from the one season where we won the conference, we always seem to want to make a trade for a playoff push, and not a stanley cup push. "Anything can happen in the playoffs" mindset.
