Its the stupid penalties.

But for some reason, stupid penalties are far less likely to be called in the play-offs.

He has value for a team that aren't worried about making it to the post-season. Bennett's game is more suited for that.

I’m not sure I love it but Virtanen for Bennett actually could make a lot of sense for both teams.

Would hate to trade him to a rival for him to break out, but a physical RH RW wouldn’t be the worst thing

I can't blame Bennett, as disappointing as he has been. A fresh start elsewhere would be the best thing for his career.

Don't think he'll get more than something like a 3rd round pick in value.

It's been six games since the playoffs. If a team was interested then they are probably interested now. There will be some teams interested based on him being a top 5 pick but it's hard to figure out what his value may be. It hasn't worked out in Calgary. He hasn't had much of an opportunity to play with quality players but he's also doesn't bring intensity in the regular season that he does in the playoffs.

Frankly he seems like an ideal trade deadline acquisition. Bring him in for a playoff run and minimize how much of a regular season he has on the new team.

Probably the best move for Bennett and team. Bennett will get an opportunity elsewhere, there’s still much worse players in the league that are everyday NHLers. Flames need to give his spot to a young guy.

A change of scenery is almost a necessity at this point, especially from Bennetts POV

It's too bad to hear, I'm a big fan and I'm still on the side that thinks Bennett hasn't been given a proper opportunity to show he's a top 6 forward

If a trade happens I hope he gets a real chance, and it lasts longer than 2 periods before he's relegated back to the bottom 6

Tough, mean, hard working and skilled. He hasn't put it all together but I think he can, and it's hard to find many players as versatile as Bennett

Wow, this is hilarious in every way. Tre can't get anything for him in any trades and trade package that involved him ended up with choosing another player from other teams. Now this! If Tre is gonna salvage anything out of this, it'll be to wait for the trade deadline in a couple of months.
