Marchesin was outstanding for Porto. At least 4 show stoppers.

Road goals continuing into extra time remains the stupidest rule in the Champions League.

First leg, Porto won at home 2-1.
Second leg in Turin, after 90', had Juve winning 2-1, thus game goes to extra time at 3-3.

Each team scores in ET, yet because Porto' goal was an "away" goal, they end up winning the tie 4-4, as they scored 2 away goals, to Juve's 1.

If Away goal rule were to be abolished, going into extra time, the game would've proceeded to penalties, which imho is more fair.

If Dembele could finish Barca would be right in this tie with a shot at the miracle.

Edit: If Messi could score penalties....PSG clearly want to choke this way, Barca don't want it apparently.

Turns out all we had to do to get a home result was move our home game away from Anfield.

I love the away goals rule as I find penalties to be the absolute worst way of settling an aggregate draw. Just look at the drama yesterday in the Juventus match!

JFC , while VAR accurately waived off both early goals against United, their early defensive laps occur perpetually. Missing Fred’s speed over Matic.

Henderson needs to save that. Poor effort.

clear handball by the Milan defender right before that, but yeah, Henderson needs to save that.

Lol another Arsenal debacle goal conceded. You almost wonder if the players have a stake in AFTV and just want to keep the content up.

Still find a way to win the game 3-1. *Fingers crossed* they have a good week.

So the winners of Europa are guaranteed a spot in the Group Stage of Champions League.

Does this effect the number of teams from their home countries association if the winner did not qualify for CL in their home league?

For example, Sevilla won last year and receive automatic qualification. But they also finished 4th in La Liga so qualify that way too. What if they finished 5th and Villareal finished 4th - does Spain have 5 teams in the Group Stage or does Villareal get bumped off?

they'd have 5 spots. Happened for example when United won the EL in 2017, there were then 5 English teams in the 17/18 CL group stage.

I believe it'd get messy if for example Liverpool won the CL and Spurs the EL, with both finishing outside of the top 4 ... I think then the team in 4th place would be bumped off because I don't think they'd allow 6 teams.

Yup, remember comments on here back then. If I recall it was you who mentioned it early on, that this was a way for United to sneak into CL, the following season.

Sounds like Keano may become the new Celtic manager. He'll restore order.
