Yup - Gamepass is the best value in gaming easily.
And if you've never had it before or are just getting into XBox for the first time the pro move is to buy 3 years of Xbox Live Gold first, then convert it to Gamepass Ultimate for $1.
Costs you $210 up front on Gold, but locks you in for three years of Ultimate at that price, where as usually it would cost anywhere from $150-$200 just for a year.
I was a lifelong Madden guy playing the series annually since I was a teenager on various platforms but EA finally managed to break me. I finally realized I was part of the problem buying the game every year so I haven't purchased the last three seasons of Madden and I won't buy another EA NFL game again.
I'm in the exact same boat. And you can add FIFA to that list as well. I'd rather give Konami my money and have them continue to compete than give it to EA just so they can come up with more innovative ways to scam people through the UT modes.

NFL is part of the problem though selling exclusive rights. Nothing kills innovation more than having your competition eliminated. I remember the days of 2K and even Microsoft had their own NFL game that was available on the original Xbox that wasn't a bad game. Those games brought their own innovations that kept EA on their toes. Now they can just trot out the same Frostbite engine every generation make minor tweaks to consumers happy to pay full game retail for essentially the same game they paid full retail for the year before and the year before that. I decided I no longer wanted to be that consumer.

2K5 is obviously the standard in NFL sims, but the NFL Fever series is criminally underrated. Loved those games.

NFL Blitz can never be beat IMO, same with NHL Hitz. I would love for those to make a comeback, but with so much attention around head injuries now they probably wouldn't fly

Those aren't really sims. Enjoyable arcade games for sure though. The original NFL Street series was fun, too.
MLB The Show releases for PS4, PS5, XB1, XSS and XSX on April 20th.
But no Switch??

I'm seriously annoyed there's no The Show for the Switch. Even in 2019 when Sony said it was going multiplatform the official Nintendo twitter tweeted about it. And now this. Just brutal.

The one funny thing I find with The Show coming to Xbox is now Xbox fanboys are making fun of Playstation thinking that this is just the start and soon more exclusives will be coming over. What basically happened is the license ran out and the MLB told them if they wanted to renew they would have to go multi-platform.
