Well. They broke the goose egg. Still some hilariously bad at bats from the Jays.

Between the injuries, the weak rotation, and some horrible AB’s, I’ve definitively tempered my expectations for the season. They still might be competitive but probably more of a .500 team rather than a playoff team.

Well there is plenty to be optimistic about with the team.

Vlad looks awesome. Also literally every other hitter besides Grichuk is hitting well below their historical average. Grichuk has also been outstanding in CF.

Pitching is a huge question mark, but it isn't what's letting us down right now. Defensive miscues and guys not hitting are the issue. Tellez, Kirk, Davis, and Jansen have been absolutely horrific at the plate.

Injuries are frustrating. Bats are ice cold. Hits are not going our way right, other team getting little dinky hits in, while ours are going straight to infielders.

It's April.

Yep. It’s true.

I’ve just been so beaten down by the Flames and Jays over the last 28 years that it’s easy to go to dark places...

At least the Jays have a young squad with tons of upside. Can't say the same about the poor old Flames.

Oh I totally agree.

I am in the same boat. I am getting irrationally frustrated with Jays losses as well, which im sure is also related to the Flames being a mess.

These last few games have been some particularly ugly performances from the Jays though.

Sooooo many strikeouts my goodness.

And it's not like they're just getting beat by good pitching. They're swinging at absolute junk and not adjusting to it so they know better the next time they get the same pitch.

I'm not sure, but I think all my favorite sports teams are banding together in an effort to make me hate watching sports.

It feels that way right now doesn’t it! Raptors with the season from hell. Flames are just a mess. I guess i wanted to invite some more misery into my life so I started cheering for Arsenal. Jays looking extremely bad but plenty of time to right the ship.

So how long before they just postpone this one?

3+ hour delay already.

Heard rumours of a first pitch at 7:45. I hope that’s still the case. I’d like to be able to watch my two favourite teams simultaneously #### the bed.

There were a couple bad strike calls on Rowdy, but for cripes sake........when there's 2 strikes you protect the plate. Two guys on and you end the inning looking?

I'm done with this guy for now. Like to see him sit for a bit and get his head on straight. His .000 average won't be missed right now.

Two balls called strikes. It was a classic "management" strike out. Pitcher gets down 2 balls early, ump rewards him with a third ball called strike. Then the pitcher battles back and he blows a fourth ball as a strike out.

But to Kootney's point, Rowdy sucks so bad. Like I said, I haven't been following closely so I don't know what he was supposed to be, but from the untrained eye he has no eye for the ball and when he swings it's like someone swinging a 2x4.

Isn't Davis safe at second? His foot was off the bag.

Should be safe all around.
