Vasek breaks to take set 3 7-5 - Can he pull off a huge upset?

Get home, turn the TV on and Pospisil takes the third set too! Khachanov was visibly frustrated at the end of that set.

Shapiro was 38, I don't think it would have mattered.

Perhaps, but it is two seeded players and it does move guys around somewhat prior to the draw. Of course, if Shapo had played a little better tennis earlier this season, he would have likely been a seeded player as well and it would have been a moot point.

Two break points for Pospisil at 3-2, and he couldn't convert. Damn.

Edit: Then Pospisil gets broken right away. Kinda saw that coming.

Also, the forgotten Canadian, Schnur, is down 2-6, 4-6, 0-1 to Paire.

Yeah, tough draw luck for Brayden, Paire is in good form (made the Cincy final last week). Still, quite the accomplishment for Brayden getting his ranking high enough to make the US Open main draw.

Win or lose, Vasek taking Khachanov to five sets is some fine tennis.

Suffice to say Felix has hit the rookie wall. This is a dreadful performance.

Hearing the commentating on the Coco match makes it so easy to hate Americans in tennis.
