Pretty much. I get it as the grand slams are the holy grail but I felt she pulled the pin the moment she realized winning the final was going to take a bit of work. Sucks for the people in attendance and the organizers as they deserve better than “I’m saving myself for the US Open”.

For sure. I believe her emotion was pretty real though. I think she understood the gravity of that decision in that situation as it was not ideal for her opponent to win at home that way. Tough call for her but ultimately she’s basically just chasing majors at this point in her career/motherhood.

Do ticket holders get any compensation? What's the most people were paying to attend the final?

3 time Grand Slam champion , former world #1 and the last member of the Big 4, Andy Murray makes his singles return today against Richard Gasquet. Hopefully Murray can get back to his best as he was world #1 before injures took him down.

Not at a major, but it does mean she should get some easier opponents for the first round or two.

sadly no, unfair as it may seem, there were no refunds issued for the attendees of the Rogers Cup Men's final.

Well the day I went to experience the grounds(in 2016) was the prototypical London day where it rained a little bit often enough to cause a lot of delays, so because I wasn't really able to get into any match I got to sit in I figured I'd try for Genie's match which was last of the day. I ended up waiting about an hour, got a court 2 ticket for Ł5 and saw most of Kvitova-Makarova too. After Genie lost I probably could have gone back to get a ticket for Milos-Sock on Centre, but I was finally queued out by that point.

Tough opening round match for Felix in Cincy today as he faces fellow 19 year old Miomir Kecmanovic (currently ranked #58 in the world).

Felix should be coming up shortly as Albot took care of Cilic in straight sets. I think TSN2 should have the match.

Felix played terrible. The double faults are a huge problem. Loses the match 6-3,6-3.

Andy Murray does plan to play doubles and mixed doubles in Flushing Meadows, however.

Nice win for Ben Sigouin last night at the Odlum Brown open in Vancouver as he was victorious over JC Aragone of the States 6-3 6-1. The 20 year old Sigouin is ranked #783, Aragone is ranked #166

Happy Birthday to Pistol Pete! For my money the 4th best mens tennis player in history and until the Big 3 came he was the guy. Enjoy these highlights of his 14th Grand Slam championship points.

Does Felix step in for Milos (or maybe Kei Nishikori)?

Anybody watching Shapo's match?!? He dropped the first set to Joao Sousa 6-2, just curious if Sousa is playing great or if Denis is crapping the bed.

Edit: Denis has leveled the match at one set each taking set 2 6-3. Go Shapo Go!

Edit #2: Denis advances winning set 3 6-2. Nice rally after dropping the opening set.
