Avs are pissed. Might be ugly if the Flames go AWOL for a few min.

So much Phoenix in the preview, including an unchanged matchup section talking about Calgary's record on Wednesday and record after a win. We're 1-6 in the last 7 after a win now.

As great as it would be to have the flames win this tonight to make it three in a row, I just imagine the avalanche are just going to come in and dominate after last nights drubbing.
7-3 Avalanche? Goals by Giordano, Hudler and Backlund?
Man I hope I'm wrong.

ya, the avs usually do well after a loss and the Flames usually do bad after a win.... I can't see this going well for the Flames tonight.
It'll be good to see Gio back agian though. I want to see him in shut down mode on a couple of the avs guys

I can see the Flames pulling out the win with Hedja out of their lineup, he was the backbone of their D.

This may be the beginning of the collapse by an Avs team that has average goaltending, a defense playing over its head and was winning at an unsustainable % early.
I predict a 3-2 Flames win.

After so many years in the same Division, it feels weird that this is going to be the only visit for the Avs to the Saddledome this season.
This is third time in the last two and a half weeks where a team is coming to Calgary the night after an embarrassing loss to the Oilers (the Panthers only lost 4-1, but it was to the Oilers, so I'm assuming it was still pretty embarrassing). The Flames got 3 of a possible 4 points out of the previous two occasions (while also giving up 3 of a possible 4 points).
I didn't watch a lot of the game last night, but from what I saw, the Avs didn't look that good. Losing Hedja early in the game hurt them too, and it sounds like he won't be playing tonight either.
Giguere will get the start after Roy left Varlamov in for all 8 last night. He always seems to play well against the Flames.
I expect the Avs to come out angry, but if the Flames can withstand an early push, it should be a good game.

Av´s defense is banged up pretty badly, if the guys are on their horses like against Phoenix they should have a great chance of winning.

Playing Giguere makes me nervous. Being embarrassed by the Oilers makes me nervous.
But the team has some jump right now, after a couple solid outings and the return of their fallen hero.
Should be a good game.
Looking forward to seeing McKinnon live for the first time.

Well done. I was going to make a "Go home HalifaxDrunk, you're drunk" post, but it seemed redundant.
Thanks for all the hard work on the game previews.

I will be cheering hard tonight but I think we get out played by a better team reeling from a stinging loss the night before.
5-3 Avs
Butler
Stempniak
Colborne
Sarich x5

I really don't hate those lines on the back.
Can't wait until Wideman is back.
Next season we could be looking at:
Gio-Wideman
Russell-Brodie
Smid-ekblad/Sieloff
I think Sieloff and Smid on the 3rd pairing would be nasty to play against.
And if we get to draft Ekblad, then we could truly rotate our bottom 4. Well whoever isn't playing well consistently anyway.
That being said, I'll be at the game tonight and I think it will be a great game. The Avs are struggling so they will come hard but we will be ready. Gio is such a great leader, he was missed.
Flames win in shootout, 4-3.
Sven, Hudler, Russell and Stajan score. Ramo stands on his head.

Flames stay alive early and fade in the second, they enter the third tied at 2 to come away with 2 late goals!
4-2
Colbourne, B. Jones, Cammy and Brodie.
Gio keeps his crazy PPG streak up with at least one assist.

This will be a tough game! Hoping we can ride the momentum off of the past couple wins. Would like to see Sven get on the score sheet as well.

No Colborne at morning skate. Word is he's a little under the weather. Likely a game time decision. #Flames
