Default Anyone own a Tomtom ONE GPS?

I got one on the Bestbuy.ca boxing day sale but mostly on a whim. I suck at directions and i've lived in this city forever. How is the thing? How accurated? ect.

Basically any impressions. I don't expect it to be perfect but it was only $139

The new goggles also do nothing.

I got one and have tried it out a bit.. it's pretty accurate, the streets are fairly up to date. The routes it chooses aren't the best ones sometimes, but they are ones that work.

That's only with being out for a few hours with it though.

I got mine couple months ago and I've since ditched my map, I drive lots and it hasn't failed me yet. Just make sure you use the software that comes with it to update the unit regularly. I've also used it all over Florida a couple weeks ago and it's fairly accurate there too.

Yeah I'll definetely be doing all I can with it. Can you put in maps for Europe? I'd probably need to upgrade the memory on it but is that possible?

You can put europe maps on it, but I believe you have to pay for them. And the memory is fixed, so you have to take of the north american maps first.

It's a pretty easy interface too.

Nice thing is with Best Buy if you don't like it you can return it.

Apparently a TON of people have had issues with a "White Screen of death" on the ONE who bought recently.

I had it, I had to Hard reset it every time, today Tomtom released a fix you download and install: http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?FID=8578&Lid=4

Thought it may be handy for some people.

I'm not sure which tomtom my dad has, but he loves it. His eyes aren't what they used to be at reading small print so maps were frustrating for him. He likes his unit because it tells him where to turn and such (he says he's been taking orders from my mom for 40 years so he's used to it). The oddest thing is he isn't great at judging the distances. For instance if it tells him to "turn right in 500 meters" he'll immediately say "here?". I usually just look at him blankly, squint a little and shake my head slowly.

I actually encountered a blocked road in Queensland, with a freakin car trap.. it tried to get me on Bow Bottom Trail, so I marked it, and reported it when I got home to Tomtom.

Love the thing so far.
