Seems like a normal question. A significant portion of CPers wear dress clothes.

The pics Sliver posted of garters are hilarious but other than that most of these responses are lame attempts at humour only because of the username of who started the thread. I’m pretty sure Sliver could start a thread asking for suggestions for palliative care for a dying child and people would mock him and call him a troll.

As for an actual answer, the suggestion above you buy an undershirt from footlocker made for tall ass basketball players seems like a good suggestion. Tucking into your boxers/briefs seems like a decent enough back up.

Beyond that, try a few different brands. My Kirkland undershirts fit quite long. Other brands not so much and I don’t like them.

Or try drying your undershirts on low heat/delicate settings. Maybe if they shrink less you’ll find they fit better. Or buy something slim fitting. I have some great CK undershirts that are crazy soft and fit nice and snug without being constrictive. That may prevent them from riding up when you move around.

Your dress shirt, pants and belt not being quite the right fit could be an issue but that’s hard to comment on. But I have found that some of my dress shirts not fitting the best can cause untucking. Getting better fitting dress shirts could help.

I do remember buying pants once that had a thin rubber strip around the inside of the waistband meant to keep shirts from getting untucked. Maybe find pants like those?

You can get this done to your pants at Moore's for sure, and probably any menswear store with a tailor.

Thread of the year candidate? Anyway, thanks. I laughed way harder than I should have.

P.s. if you must wear an under shirt, a tight fitting stretchy one stays in place pretty well.

I'd feel nervous about wearing a dress shirt with an undershirt that didn't cover my arm pits, even with adequate deodorant or anti-antiperspirant applied. More so if you're rocking a waste-coat as well.

I have a long torso too and come untucked constantly. I bought Mr Davis bamboo undershirts and they are fantastic. A little bit pricier, but they are good quality and last a long time. I'd highly recommend them. They are long and fit tighter, so they don't bunch up and work themselves out.

Having a gut won't help. Maybe try ditching the rascal?

Do you ride it at work? Maybe leaning forward in it isn't helping the tucked-ness.

So you get to try and #### on people's legitimate complaints in the GMG thread but come to the defense of a known clown in a post that includes a question about sock suspenders?

Half of the purpose of the gear grinder thread is for the community to judge them and #### on them. It always has been.

I don’t get why the people who think Silver is a troll open a silver thread. They are all an oddball stream of consciousness with any consideration for anything but himself. Whether they are true or not doesn’t matterZ. The threads are awesome and if you didn’t like the first 50 why are you still opening them.

As for undershirts you could just not wear them.

Okay. Here’s what I recommend. Take one of those 3 hole punches, try get a couple of holes in the back of the underwear. If you get at least 2 holes that is the best. Do the same thing to your undershirts. Now the next part you might need help with unless you’re pretty flexible or dexterous. Get some old shoelaces, cut them down a bit in length, and then lace the underwear to the undershirt. Do this with all of the all the holes so it’s even, otherwise it will be uncomfortable.

Oh, and you should probably use the washroom before this, because if nature calls it might get dicey.

We had to wear the garters (like the first pic) with our service and dress uniforms in the Marines. They were to keep the top shirt properly tucked/aligned. They were effective until one of the sock attachments eventually came loose and snapped you in the giblets.

The problem isn't the shirts, but the pants. Try something with a higher rise.

My suggestion would be brand based as well. I have some Stanfields and they always come untucked but my Calvin Klein ones seem to always stay tucked. Just seemed to be trial and error finding the right brand for my size.

Agreed that an untucked undershirt is a terrible feeling.
