If anyone wants to see a great performance by Gandolfini, that isn't Sopranos, go watch The Last Castle. The movie itself is decent nothing amazing but Gandolfini is pretty steller in it.

RIP

I thought he over extended himself when he got in that fight when he was still recovering from the gunshot.
Back to reality, sad news for a great actor.

My fondest memory of Gandolfini is the story, and picture, of him cycling down to ground zero on 9/11 to see how he could help out. RIP.

Extremely under rated movie

I just recently started watching the Sopranos and I must say he had some damn fine talent.

51 is too young. RIP

Suspected heart attack, apparently his dad and uncle died fairly young from the same thing.

Not to be crude but if I was a rich 50+ overweight man with a family history of heart problems I would probably have my ticker checked a lot.

A great talent is gone but could have be prevented...looks that way anyway.

RIP James Gandolfini.

Bit of a shocker when I heard the news. He always seemed genuinely over exerted in some of the scenes through the years which brought a realness.

RIP. Incredibly sad news. I finished watching the Sopranos for the first time a couple months ago and l'm still buzzing from it. I watched an interview with him and his real life personality and TV character was complete night and day difference. One of the greatest actors I've ever watched.

Yeah, I was always kind of worried for him, you could hear his kind of labored breathing in my tv speakers.

Sopranos simply put, changed television and that was due in large part to David Chase, HBO and James Gandolfini.

Gandolfini said in a interview during the Soprano's last season that several members of his family even started to call him Tony over the years.

One of my favorite Tony moments was the episode where Tony has comeback to his crew after suffering the heart attack and he feels he has to prove he is still the man in charge when gets the sense he is being dis respected.
Mods excuse the language after all its the Sopranos.
RIP "Tony" James Gandolfini

as mentioned by MrMastodonFarm The Last Castle is movie to check out.
Average prison movie but Gandolfini and Redford are worth finding it.

Apparently he had a net worth of over $70 million. Not that it matters, I just never realized how successful he was.

I have to admit, I never watched more than a few shows of the Sopranos, but I think I would like to.

He had some successful productions under his tutelage the last few years, plus he made a cool million an episode in Sopranos

He did a movie with Kristen Stewart where she was a runaway teen age prostitute and he was a lonely business man with family troubles.

He was exceptional in that movie.

He was the king of the angry face, he showed it a lot in the Sopranos, and in the last castle.

More often then not he played the strong supporting role but he always seemed to steal the movies that he was in.

I: read an article last night where he was described as very articulate, artistic and shy in real life.

Sad to see him go.

I guess this is related, didn't want to start a new thread but this is a solid run for Alec Baldwin before quitting Twitter

Hate to be that guy, but wasn't that after Uncle Junior shot him?
