Frolik wouldn't have his fitness results if he was lazy.) I guess if players don't want to sit they better play hard because Peters will sit them if they don't.
So far:
-Ryan demoted
-Dube moved to centre
-Frolik demoted then sat
-Jankowski sat
-Bennett promoted
-Czarnik promoted
-Prout sat and replaced with Andersson
-bottom two defence pairings changed up to have veteran with rookie and rookie with veteran (if you can call Hanifin a veteran, which I would because of GP)
Am I missing anything?
We asked for a general and if being a general means making tough, leadership decisions, I think we have a general.

I would add putting Lindholm on the top line and Neal on the 3rd. While I am not too concerned about Neal, Lindholm has certainly earned that position so far, despite it being an unpopular decision amongst general hockey fans, eg: SportsNet.
It's not just his changed decisions that I like, but also the times he stuck to his guns.

Frolik will be the next guy to leave the Flames and be out of the league in two years IMO

I love how he's treated the former hurricane players too. Ryan on the fourth line and Lindholm and hanifin earning minutes.
We'd been led to believe it would be the other way around by Canes fans.

Or he is using the first several games to evaluate different guys in different roles.
And if you want to put someone in, someone else has to come out.
I wouldn’t read too much in to it

It is tough to say. I like Frolik but his contract does not fit on this roster if he is going to be on the 4th line going into the summer.
It might be hard to pay Tkachuk less than $7-8M next summer if he keeps up this scoring pace and continues to be the emotional leader for this team. Unless something happens with Rittich or Gillies this year I see Treliving looking to once again shake up the crease next summer and either take a run at Bobrovsky or swing a trade for a high prices starter.
It wouldn’t be the same scenario as Raymond or Brouwer where they were both useless as Frolik has been good when healthy for the Flames. If he continues to play 4th line minutes I do believe his 4.2M cap hit for one more year would be untradeable which would lead to a buyout.

I think Frolik would still have value in a trade. Especially at the deadline to a team looking for some experienced depth. Likely get a 2nd rounder for him.

Not a chance Tkachuk will make more than Gio, Gaudreau or Monahan.

For some reason I guess CP thought we should have that exchange twice... haha
I just can’t see it happening. Treliving went toe to toe with Gaudreau and Gaudreau ended up capitulating because he didn’t want to miss any games. It’s no coincidence that his cap hit is exactly the same as Gio’s.
You think Tkachuk is going to blow right through that? If he thinks that’s happening, he’s the one who’s in for a rude awakening.

This is the only reason I worry a bit about the father connection. Father Tkachuk wasn't a afraid of a good old fashioned hold out.

Taking my whole family tonight and it is our son's first NHL game!
There are actually 10 of us going (4 in our family) and we are all sitting in the lower bowl, Section 134 row 12!
The 4 of us will be decked out in Calgary Flames jersey's, hats, T-shirt. 3 of us are sporting Gio embroidered and embossed gear. Go Gio!
GFG!!!
Most Calgary games in Denver, I have taken my daughter with me and they have won every game. Our daughter has been fortunate enough to get lots of Flames and practice pucks from the boys, including a glove off offering from Moneyhands after the last warm up... she was 8 at the time, great memory!
Win this for yourselves first and our because it's our son's 1st NHL game!

I don’t get too concerned about it. He might hold out similar to Johnny, but I doubt it hits Nylander levels. Tkachuk is a leader on this team for a reason.

I don't really consider this track record:
Mason Raymond - Buyout
Lance Bouma - Buyout
Troy Brouwer - Buyout
as indicative of Tre being able to get rid of Frolik cleanly.
