Thanks!!

I went through there on saturday on a little pathway ride and it was deathly icy. I think there is some natural springs that empty out onto the path as well. I cant say if they ever plow it or not but I wouldn't try it without studs or an insane amount of caution.

Thanks for the info! Yeah there's that bit between Edworthy and the rail crossing that's always soaked with water. Right where all the pavement ruts are to boot...

Counting down the days until the north side is open again!

Don't they call that "The Glacier"? I don't think the south side is plowed year round.

I've asked on twitter with the #yycbike hashtag, with the north side pathway still closed I know quite a few commuters were asking if there would be snow and ice control on the south side until the north opens up again.

I believe they named it June after the month it was finally gone this year.

I wouldn't ride the south side. It's too shaded at the best of time so it'll definitely be icy all the time. It's also narrower, so I doubt it's plowed.

Wouldn’t a unicycle accomplish the same thing and with less parts?

^ tried to embed this clip as it seemed mot appropriate:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KsvnQqpitU

rode my bike in this morning for the first time in over a month. there was lots of standing while pedalling, and the part i hate the msot about this time of year, is that I leave later, so there is more traffic to deal with. I also had to deal with another slow and stupid cyclist, as i had to hang off of his back tire for a bit as i waited for a safe pass, i get past him, then i need to slow down for a road obstacle, and then he passes me again going slowly, so we start our game again. I don't usually do this, but i asked what he was trying to do. also suggested that eh get soem type of light or reflector and wear less black stuff.

Saw my first porcupine this morning. He was HUGE! Freaked me out a little.

Loving my new bike and this fine fall weather. I have a terrible cold right now but just can’t not ride. Too much time off already.

If anyone has Amazon Prime, the movie Bicicles is now on Prime Video. A film about winter commuting by bike in Calgary.

Great to hear, I'm closing in on my 5000km goal for the year and should be able to easily push it to 5500 I'm hoping.

I'm going to miss my 10,000 by a mile. Need to get my knee issues fixed.

I'm 600+km behind my 10k goal. I'm going to try to make up lost kms this week and next if I can.

I'm taking a few daylight hours off work today to get in some riding. Making up my riding during the day and working in the night. Not sure what I've become.

Man, if it's that close I'd be willing to push you around the block for 10 minutes to get you to that total!
