People can have their whipping boy, I’ll leave the Lazar negativity group to their own opinions, but what I see is a young player who had his development rushed, damaged, and slotted incorrectly in Ottawa. Calgary acquired him in the same way Vancouver acquired Sven - they needed to course correct his development. Sven and Lazar fill different roles, but patience and development time is what is required.

Right now I see a young player who hustles, and makes the odd mistake but generally is helping the team drive the play into the offensive zone. That’s an improvement on what the 4th line has been for the vast majority of the season this year. He’s also just now getting into the lineup consistently, and I see improvement game to game.

I say stick with him, and we’ll have a good, effective 4th line player with PK potential. Plus, he’s a good kid. He’s not hurting the team right now, and to say he’s the reason Eatbread hasn’t scored is...ah, whatever. Show some patience, we have a roster filled with players who have been shown patience and given time to develop at the NHL level and it’s paying off in huge ways.
