All 3 see the ice at a higher level and for them to find chemistry early on is a gift for the Flames.

Lindholm makes double teaming Johnny a much riskier strategy for the opposition.

Winning a trade tho isn't a all or nothing, or there is only one winner type of thing, like an actual game. It's actually possible for both teams to win and lose a trade. If both the Flames and Hurricanes become better from this trade, then it was a win win.

Why bother mentioning Bennett in this discussion? Nice drive by

Just wait til after Bennett develops some chemistry with Neal.

Hopefully that will shutout some of the Bennett negativity...It gets exhausting to read I tell you.

Johnny and Monahan need a very specific type of player to play with them. Much like Sid, not everyone can do it. It's not simply enough to go to the net with your stick on the ice.

Despite some sensational stretches of play and great production from both 13 and 23 over the last three years, I don't think I'm out of line to say they have never been as destructive as they were in 14-15 with Hudler pre-Regehr.

They have needed someone who thinks the game the way they do. Elias Lindholm is a better player than Jiri Hudler in every way, except his slap shot. He's seemed like a perfect fit there since we acquired him.

If there's one thing I want to go right this year, it's Lindholm on the third line.

If he can put up 60+ points, that would be huge. I don't do want to get ahead of myself, but a line of GML line could be good for many years to come.

I also like the Hudler comparison. Hopefully Lindholm can be like Hudler but with a bit more speed.

Bennett to Kybs is like Monahan to Love. The poster contends that it would have been better to trade Bennett to Carolina in that trade rather than Ferland.

On so many levels it's beyond stupid.

Chemistry is such an important aspect of trades. Watching San Jose lose to the Islanders today, it’s clear the Sharks haven’t figured out how to deploy Karlsson.

Time for me to get a Lindholm retro jersey. The kid is a great all around player. Who was the last Flame to be as strong on his stick as Lindholm is?

Still, so far, the positive signs outweigh the negative ones for Lindholm. He’s getting luckier, yes, but he’s shooting the puck more, with a higher degree of skill, with better players getting him the puck in better shooting lanes. We could be looking at this season’s William Karlsson.

I still can't believe that that release and shot placement has only netted 17 in a full season. It's as good as Monahan's and maybe even a little quicker.

He's getting at least 25, even if he drops off a bit.
