Sharks made offers to 4 players. Heading into free agency with $16mill, second only the the Penguins ($29mill). Priority is to shore up our forward depth.

Hmm... so you are basically trying to steer us away from the Forwards. Not sure offering 4 guys 4 Million is going to be enough there Dave.

I do wonder why anyone posts ahead of the deadline what they did, even at a high level. Could have a few possible outcomes
- Scares off teams from bidding against the same type of players
- Motivates teams to up their offers
- Misleads teams by saying you did one thing, when you really did another.

I do know the Sharks gm made 4 offers, can't tell you he bid 4 mil per player though. I Dont think his post was meant to be misleading, if he did do 4 per year ,yeah he probably wont get them.

The Wild also made four offers on forwards, each of them $1 more than what Dave offered.

The Lightning made zero offers. The entire batch is bust territory, and all the folks who win the players are going to be losers in the end.

I like the gamesmanship too. 4 x $4m offers would be too predicableBecause he said priority is on forwards, I'd bet he did something like $4.5 on 3 forwards and 2.5 on a Dman.
Batch result days are honestly one of my favorite times of the season to see who drastically overpays for guys and also to see when a GM who bids peanuts on a decent vet and wins because they were the only bid. Of when Jiri tells us that player x was won by so and so just by a small amount.
We have limited cap but even if I can't participate in bidding it's still super fun to watch unfold.
