Hopefully he gets to a place sooner than later where he can admit he has a problem, and then at least open himself up to getting outside help.

If it is true that she is struggling to buy formula for her baby and buy basic necessities to survive, I hope the NHLPA steps up and helps her. It is why the Emergency Assistance Fund exists and that fund should have a ton of money judging by recent suspensions and fines doled out.

As others have pointed out, pretty serious allegations. I truly feel for the wife first and foremost. I'm sure there have been people, whether co-workers or family who've been affected by a deadbeat husband or father. It appears she's at her wits end with his irresponsible behavior.


When it comes to the NHL, we'll know how seriously they're taking this for how they handle this. If they come back in two weeks and say this was a misunderstanding, they're just trying to cover their butt. For this saying this isn't possible and it's just a scorned wife because he was their leading scorer and all that, watch this video on how it actually works (I posted this in the previous Evander thread). FWIW, I think the guy is a dbag in every sense.

I always thought Kane was a poster child for pro athletes being spoiled children.

If he was betting on his own games then he clearly has a massive problem, and he can’t be allowed back into the league.

It would be interesting to know how the NHL investigates this and if they are more committed to this investigation than they are to the Hawks

When it comes to gambling on NHL games, he’s innocent until proven guilty IMO.
