That is so strange. I rarely listen to Slipknot but I got a free year sub to Qello today (which I didn't really see a use for) and looked at the list of concerts. I figured why not watch/listen to the Slipknot one. I'm literally listening to Slipknot as I'm reading that Joey died. I probably haven't actively listened to Slipknot for over 5 years, but decided to today.

That does suck.

I didnt know of his health issues so this one came out of left field for me. Comparing this to Alexi Laiho where I had seen him in person a year before his death, that one was not surprising but still sad.

RIP Joey

not a big fan of blastbeats, but I'm making an exception here:

outstanding musicianship again. Took a while, but "Vortex" has also grown on me. Looks like the new material is more complex, looking forward to the new album.

Pretty cool collaboration of industrial metal and hip hop/punk rock. It works better than I would have expected.

Your post made me look up some of their older stuff, I like it. Sounds like a blend of Coal Chamber, Ministry, and classic Marilyn Manson

almost feels like Christmas today ... Be'Lakor have finally released a new song, and announced that their new album "Coherence" will be released on October 29. Beyond stoked for this, it's a bit of shame that they still flying under the radar a bit.

New Jinjer

I get a feeling their new album is going to take a few listens to fully appreciate. Vortex and Mediator didn't connect with me immediately, but now I think they're awesome songs, and I suspect Wallflower will be the same

New Spiritbox also

That is my most anticipated album this year, I've loved everything they've released from it so far. Gonna be a good month with Jinjer on Friday and Spiritbox 3 weeks later

And for the trifecta, I was ambivalent towards the recent nu-metal revival, but I'm digging this

My issue with Jinger is that they have a unique guitar tone and sound but it leads to music that's not very diverse as their songs to me start blending into one another as does the formula of clean to growl lyrics that are very predictable. I feel that Tatiana has such a great clean voice that her talents are somewhat wasted in growl heavy songs.

I'm very excited for the new 1914 album

If you have listened to The Blind Leading the Blind, you need to get on that ASAP.

gave the album two spins so far. Absolute banger.

EDIT: "Copycat" is easily my favourite so far. What a groovy bastard.

really looking forward to Tremontis new album as well. I like those new singles a lot more than everything Alter Bridge have released in the last few years.

Avatar released a new song today, I'm guessing its a track from the Hunter Gatherer album recording sessions. Nice timing as they start their 2021 tour tomorrow. I don't think its their best but I'm a big fan of the band regardless.

And a second Avatar song released today, naturally it’s nothing like the first song:

I know I've pumped their tires a few times in this thread. This is still one of my favorite covers of the last decade
