i thought that jaybo was awesomely understated during his tv interview. good on him for finally getting his cup and i have to admit that i was stunned to learn that steen had almost 1,000 games played.
the only thing i did not like about the blues win is that i bet a co-workers $20 that the b's would win

I’ll be honest and when the Blues were last place in December/January I really questioned O’Reilly as a player.
Seemed like he was poison. He was on his third team, and with him on the roster all the teams were just horrible, and he didn't seem to actively improve his teams at all. At the time the Sabres has just ended their long winning streak too and it looked like they didn’t miss O’Reilly at all.
Now just 6 months later he’s the Conn Smythe winner on a cup winning team.
Good reminder that good players are good players - and don’t let teams performance cloud the judgement.

and in one playoffs ROR's career long reputation has been destroyed. that's pretty cool.
Same sort of thing about Maroon.
I googled maroon info earlier in the playoffs.
tons of articles in December/January saying Maroon was playing so poorly and should be gotten rid of no matter the return. a mistake and a bad signing.
something to be said for management staying the course and not panicking.
Maroon and his son are the people i'm happiest for. Maroon is a really nice (and hard working) guy and deserves the success.

The other part is that maybe some established good teams hold on to their existing head coach too long after successive failures. Certainly seemed to be the case with Blysma in Pittsburgh but I feel in the case of the Blues that Mike Yeo was always a suspect hire seeing locker rooms tend to really hate this guy in short order.

That’s what you call being a fan throughout the good times and bad times.

Just wanted to note that I picked my username back around 2001-2002 when I joined this board and it's based on a nickname I had in college.
With that said, I'm happy for the Jaybo who played for the team from 2009-2013! ;-)

We aren't the only ones that saw their top line disappear for a series....from Burnside at theathletic.com:
"The Bruins scored 10 five-on-five goals in seven games. None came off the sticks of Bergeron or Marchand. David Pastrnak, the pair’s right-wing sidecar, scored one on a team-high 24 shots on goal."

Pasternak looked like he had a rubber blade on his stick last night.

He must have taken 3 or 4 shots from 20’+ out, down near the goal line. Useless attempts.

I was cheering for Boston because I like Chara and Bergeron. Bergeron is my 2nd favorite non-Flame player. Hate Marchand though, such a rat.
I'm OK with the Blues winning, many likable players. I love trying to guess who gets the Cup after the captain hoists it, and I was surprised it was Jaybo, but it is definitely deserved. A very good hockey player who's time here just didn't work out.
I have no time for guys who cry after losing a championship. I like when guys handle it with class, again, like Bergeron.

I realized Sutter had zero idea what to do with the players he had.

What does crying have to do with class?

Insanely jealous of the Blues fans. Every season that goes by with no cup feels like a splinter. Still, good for them. Long time coming.
