As I recall she jumped to a different TV show which was promptly cancelled, so it may have been some astute career-planning to hedge her bets.
Unlike Sonequa Martin-Green, although despite the fact that her new show sucks all hell shes likely being paid very well to be on it as shes the magic lynch-pin that makes the whole thing work.

Maggie is supposed to be returning to the show after Lauren Cohan's show flopped. She's going to be a series regular again next season, but could make an appearance this season.
Also, it has been reported that Danai Gurira is leaving the show after this season, so Michonne will be written out somehow.

i think Negan is playing Alpha. I don't have a specific reason but I always thought he was there on the sly. I do believe his relationship with Judith plays a part.

He's definitely playing them. Patiently destroying the Whisperers from within in order to save Judith and finally earn the complete trust of the Alexandria/Hilltop gang. That's my guess.
This show is certainly hit and miss these days, but tonight's episode was pretty great.

I had a feeling Negan was definitely playing Alpha, but I didn't predict that he was conspiring with Carol the entire time. That was fun. I always figured it was Judith who let him out of his cell.
I have been a fan of this show from the start, but my interest has been waning the last few seasons.
I am half way thru tonights episode and i have just about had it though. This godamn show has way too many characters now, and it makes it way to hard to give a #### about any of them anymore. Plus they drag these battles out for way too long now as well.
How many chances will they have to kill Beta before they finally do it? I had to pause it tonight and make this post because I just watched some idiot, who I dont even know the name of, shoot an arrow right past the back of Betas head and into a zombies face. Then before he can reload Beta goes running off into the forest again. Why wouldn't he take Beta out 1st and then take out the zombie after?
Oh thats right, because Beta cant die yet, not until they do another 2 or 3 seasons of battle with the godamn whisperers or some #### like that lol.
I gotta keep with it to see how it ends now but holy #### stuff like that really makes it hard to stay tuned.

Ok, so last night was painful, until the last 5 mins, but a good pay off.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the what the Whisper meant when he said to Beta something along the lines of "it's you, I thought I recognized your voice" then BETA killed him.
