I remember Fucsovics giving Fed a heck of a match a couple of years ago at the US Open I believe. No big weapons, just very solid.

In the middle of the 2nd set and the unforced errors count is Shapo 25, Fucsovics 7

Dan Evans is in trouble as he's down two sets to love to American Mackenzie McDonald.
/Borna Coric in the same predicament trailing Sam Querrey.

Denis needs to shape up. Comebacks gonna be tough with the air quality.

Shapo lets a ball go for 3-3 in the tiebreak and loses the momentum after being up 3-0, ... you just have to hit that volley. Thankfully he recovered and won the next two points with some smart shotmaking and ultimately Fucsovics folded.
It's really more of the same thing we've always seen from Denis - he makes things harder on himself than they should be, usually with what appears to be a lack of preparation.I get that Fucsovics isn't a slouch, but it shouldn't be this much of a struggle and this much beating himself to get through an early round match, if he's striving to be a top 10 player.

Okay, Denis takes set 2 in a tie-breaker as Fucsovics double-faults on set point. Heck of a point by Shapo prior to the double fault.

Phew... that was close.
Denis survives a set point and takes the 2nd set tiebreak.

I like when a young guy decides to win a point with the grind instead of nasty winner. Shapo needs to trust his legs to do it more often.

Dash. Opelka vs Fognini later
A) who will win?
B) how many aces will Opelka hit?
C) how many times will Fognini complain?

Denis loves to make things more difficult for himself than it needs to be. Seems like how he'll always be.

Denis is lucky to be in this. He hasn't broken once (not even a break point) and been broken 3 times.
