Why would we want to make this move? Stajan is off the books next season and makes less, while Moulson has an extra year.

My argument was about the need to drop one of them in order to add Kane, this doesn't solve that problem. It just gives us another one to deal with.

I would consider trading Brouwer for him so a buyout this offseason will not be stretched out over 4 years.

I wouldn't do Bennett for Kane, just because the potential for that to bite us on two ends (Kane not re-signing and Bennett being forced into a top 6 role by Buffalo and then him running with it and becoming a legit top 6 guy) is very scary.

I don't know Buffalo's cap situation but what I seriously would do is Kane for Bennett and Brouwer. I'm not sure if Buffalo would do that but if the above worst case scenario for the Flames is tempting enough for the Sabres they may just take Brouwer on too and put both Brouwer and Bennett in better positions and hope for the best.

With that we could legitimately re-sign Kane if everything works out.

I find it funny in a sad way that people are on the Kane train after Burke comes out and says he has a do not draft list as he doesn’t want to create problems for his coaches. Can’t see it happening. Eichel dropped to 3c so someone is bumped up and being showcased in all likelihood.

I'd take Kane if he's just a supporting offensive piece. If that means we can unload some of the bloat from the bottom 6 that would be great.

I like Bennett slightly more than Reinhart so I don't think that's a necessary swap. However, if the Flames are dissatisfied with their Sam because he isn't panning out at C, then it's a very realistic trade given they were drafted back to back and have both stalled a bit.

Okposo is struggling but he scores goals. So does Kane of course but than you have to add Kane, character issues and all.
