Thought the title was "Winnipeg boys" and was impressed by the large and multicultural group of players Winnipeg produced.

Great OP. Makes you reminisce. Here’s some of mine:

Kari (Scary) Eloranta - king of the giveaway

Ric Nattress - king of the diving pokecheck as he got beat a lot

Michel Petit - Dave King calked him an ‘interesting’ player. All the tools no toolbox

Riser - not for when he played but when he was GM. Too much too soon.

Paul Kruse - we lost Brian Skrudland to protect him?

Tim Jackman - we were in the throes of a rebuild and Feaster extends him at trade deadline? Was big and not much else

Peplinski - should have retired way before he did

Reichl - all the talent in the world but like the tin man, no heart

Brian MacLellan - came in at deadline and won a cup with us but frustrating player to watch. Size and talent but didn’t do much here.

Mike Vernon - one of the best that ever played wearing the C but inopportune 5 hole goals at the wrong time earned scorn.

Dan Keczmer - waiver pickup known for his speed and lack of production, yet ysomehow earning the trust of the coach and unwarranted ice time. Also known for multiple mispronunciations of his name by the late great Ed Whalen.

Rob Niedermeyer - par for the course of the flames to get the lesser of the two hockey siblings

Didn't we trade Jeff Reese for him?

The Setoguchi phase really threw some people for a loop over here. I thought it was hilarious.

Drury by a mile. Stuart was a good trooper about his stay. Drury from the second he was traded here was not please and vocal.

Drury. Brad enjoys Calgary but due to family constraints he needed to play in the USA (wife's custody battle with her ex).

Dirty didn't want to be here and he sulked.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Gary Leeman.

A whipping boy is someone who is punished for the failures of others. Most of these players aren't that.

Oh, I didn’t know that. Thanks. I guess Stuart is a real person with real problems

I’ll go over to the ‘let’s run Jon Gillies out of town’ thread

Finally, someone who knows what this means. It’s not who you hated. It’s who took more than his fair share of criticism (not meaning that they were necessarily undeserving of ANY, just not the amount).

Like (IMO) Stajan, Turek, Wideman, sometimes even Brouwer.

Does Kravchuck count here? I always thought he took an inordinate amount of criticism...from the guy sitting in front of me in my section at the Dome, at least...
