I don't get how the semi-finals bracket works...everywhere I've seen has the Colorado series winner playing the winner of Bruins/Islanders. Then the winner of Tampa/Carolina playing North Div champs...

Confused...

Hellebuyck gets the same pattern he had in the series against Edmonton.
Carey Price save %

Montreal’s four wins:

.972
.914
.953
.968

Montreal’s three losses:

.879
.931
.889

Two ‘bad’ games out of seven.

As Price only played 25 regular season games, he doesn’t have a usual regular season’s worth of nagging issues.

If there was a year when Price was going to go full Hasek and drag a team with no business being past round 1 to the Finals, this is it.

It will be 1 v 4, 2 v 3.

Colorado or Vegas will be #1 no matter what and Montreal or Winnipeg will be #4 no matter what.

Sure thing...i was much more thinking monetary but whatever floats your boat Butch.

I am curious though.....how does one "destroy and dominate" a club but lose games?

Goalposts moved?

If you think TB wins the cup again, i get it and you're not alone.

Im not convinced they even get there myself.

I think the Jets are a good team as far as their whole lineup goes and the Habs have maybe better star players especially Carey Price.

Might be another 7 game series with the Habs winning.

Better forwards than Scheifele, Ehlers, Connor, Wheeler, Copp? I don’t think the Habs measure up there. Toffoli is their top scorer and had 20 less points than Scheifele. Connor has more than Suzuki, Ehlers has more than Tatar, Wheeler has more than Anderson, Copp has more than Danault.

I expect the Jets to thrash the Habs in game 1...they have to be exhausted. After that a pretty close series....Jets in 6.

Yeah, with no conferences this year we were hoping for a different final. But unless Montreal gets there, it will be East versus West

Canadiens could be a team of destiny. Or not. But I still take them in this series.

Habs in 7

If you love active trade deadlines...the Habs getting to the 3rd round after their load up of old plugs will likely encourage this going forward.

If the jets win...the value of centers over wingers will likely get overrated...

Not sure either of these made a big difference...

A Canadian team is guaranteed to make the semi finals. Overreaction and over analysis is also guaranteed.

No matter how this series goes I expect the intermissions will be all about the Leafs or Connor McDavid.

I have enough residual hate for the Habs left over from the ‘70s to want to see them lose, but Carey Price mitigates that slightly. We have some cousins in common so he’s practically family. Jets in 6.
