Sounds about right, although I think more cuts might happen than just those. Definitely after the split.

Pollock and Olsen pulled away from everyone in the bag skate from one goal line to the other and back again.

Doetzel is pretty quick too.

I watched Olsen in Fla. He's always had NHL skill, and in drills he looks fine. It's his decision making in game action that has always been AHL level or worse. That plus he's always had some commitment and attitude issues. He might get an AHL deal for some NHL experienced depth.

* Tkachuk left practice early and Pelley took his place on that line. As per Gulutzan, the move was precautionary.
"His hip was bugging him a little bit. We didn't want to go anywhere near it … like last year, we feel that we have managed a lot of the injuries pretty well and there's no need to see if that gets worse. No injury - just a precaution."
|
Update from the Flames on Tkachuk.
Quote:
The Flames have three forwards in attendance but not skating: right wing Zach Fischer, left wing Joel Lowry and right wing Daniel Pribyl. All have been listed as injured.
Out of the three, Pribyl's injury is the most serious.
"I believe it's his ACL and he's going to be out for awhile," Gulutzan said.
|
Poor Pribyl is made of glass.

This is because so many vocal posters are hyper-focused on Smith's mistakes and would repeatedly ignore good things he does. This happened ALL THE TIME at the Young Stars tournament.

I watched Smith at practice yesterday, and he didn't look bad at all....

Don't forget how for every two comments about Hunter Smith's play there is always one about his beard.
Like right now.

Unfortunately I think Pribyl's last chance to be an NHLer when up in smoke with that injury. He'll be back overseas for 2018-19.

The hobo beard phenomenon is terrible and can't end soon enough. I'm saddened a Flame is opting in.

What is it with grown men and their obsession with other men's beards? So strange.

I view it within the same category as women caring about each other's shoes, nail polish, or other similar accessories. In theory they're supposed to help attract the opposite gender, but in reality they're used to gain the respect and admiration of their own gender.
