Watched Captain Fantastic tonight. It's an interesting story about a family whose death of their mother forced them to reintegrate into society after living a decade in isolation.
This is such a great movie that nobody really saw. I heartily recommend it as well.

I had the same reaction. Definitely not overtaking Snatch or Lock Stock, but it was worth a watch for sure. I think it's probably the third movie if you were doing a Guy Ritchie marathon. But I didn't think it quite had the same soul as those two movies. Felt somehow too polished. Hugh Grant stole the thing though, really fun performance to watch.
Yup.
I watched OUATIH as well recently, and enjoyed it. It wasn't my favourite movie of the year or anything, but it was still an excellent way to spend an evening. I am, at this point in my movie-watching existence, really into the creation of an atmosphere more than anything else, and that movie created a mood and a sensation better than probably anything he's done since Reservoir Dogs.
It was, however, quite an un-Tarantino movie, other than the sort of "fantasy" element that has crept into his style particularly since Kill Bill. And it's ludicrous to suggest that it's comparable to Pulp Fiction.
I think if you were young in the late 60's or early 70's, you probably would have watched the whole thing with a massive smile on your face throughout.
I’m going to try it.
I’m the oddball who really doesn’t like Quarantino’s stuff. My favorite thing of his are those Grindhouse shorts he did with Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan, and the Kiwi
stuntwoman.
Watched Blow The Man Down last night, and I thought it was just alright. I looked up one old lady on there because I've seen her on several movies over the years and she's 90 years old and acting. Pretty neat. Anyway, the movie wasn't complex but it never fully developed what it was trying to get at, so much so that I had to google the ending to understand it. Solid 3/5 for me though.

I watched the sequel with my kids not seeing the first film or knowing that they were critically acclaimed. I knew within just a couple minutes that the craftsmanship of the movie was leagues above the majority of other films. I was really impressed by it and would highly recommend.
Finally did give Contagion another watch, man it's impressive at just how accurate that movie is. It also made me very thankful that we ended up with Covid-19 for the real pandemic instead of something deadlier. Hopefully we learn enough from this to better prepare for the next virus that could be far worse
Watched The Platform (original Spanish name El hoyo) on Netflix. I absolutely loved it, and I'm going to call it a future cult classic.
It's an allegorical somewhat surreal horror film essentially about trickle down economics / class society. It's extremely obvious about it's allegories, to a point where I found much of it darkly humorous, but I'm assuming people with different backgrounds and different political leanings will have very mixed reactions to it.
It's not nearly as weird as it sounds, it's a very straightforward film that flows well for the genre. I would strongly recommend people give it a watch just to see something unusual. It's also just a pretty decent horror flick.
I would also call it an absolute must see for film buffs. One of the more unusual films of recent years, and I'm pretty sure people will reference it in the future. I know I'm going to pester all my film buff friends until they see it.
Location: A simple man leading a complicated life....

Last night I watched a movie a friend gave me some time ago - "K-Pax". It's the story of a man says he's from the planet K-PAX and psychiatrist DR Powel who wants to find who Prout really is,
