Legs don’t need soap, feet do,
They aren’t visably dirty, I’m not eating with them so not concerned with getting bacteria off, they don’t smell,
Isn’t a better questions why would you use soap on your legs? What goal are you trying to accomplish that water flowing down doesn’t.

What? By that logic, do you not wash your torso? Why wash your feet then? They’re standing in the water and also getting water and residual soap on them. What purpose is the shower then if you only care about the parts that you eat with?
Washing your legs take like, 10 seconds. each. Why wouldn’t you?

My goal of showering is to eliminate odor and clean visible dirt. So in general this is crevices unless something is visibly dirty.
So my feet will smell from the accumulation of bacteria, soap and scrubbing removes this bacteria whereas flowing water does a poorer job.
I don’t really actively wash my torso, some areas get residual soap from arm pit and crotch washing. Do you soap and scrub your back?
What does washing your legs accomplish for you? What is your goal for your shower that necessitates washing legs.

Do you do full surgical scrub on every part of your body? How do you decide how much scrubbing to do to meet your standard of cleanliness?

Bro you don’t even wash your entire body. Maybe start with that before you start ranting about people suggesting “surgical scrubs.”

I already have my sponge loaded with soap, so sudsing over my entire body, legs included, isn’t as onerous as you’re making it out to be.

I feel like once you’ve been in a busy men’s public washroom and seen the rate of guys that wash their hands, it’s pretty hard to be surprised by how many guys can’t even figure out a shower.

I have no doubt that a venn diagram of poor hand washers and non leg washers is a single overlapping circle. To be fair for the first 30 so odd some years of my life I thought the pee in the shower thing was a joke everyone was in on it never seemed within the realm of reality that someone would actually piss in the bathtub. Someone honestly saying that they did it exploded my brain. Takes all types I spose

I do ensure that my entire body is washed. There is a high pressure water spray hitting my body rinsing away various things on the skin. Some people seem to think that a high pressure spray is insufficient and you need to add soap and some undefined degree of scrubbing.
My question simply is how to you define the degree of cleaning between a surgical scrub and a light soaping and just a high pressure water spray by body part. It sounds like most people have never considered why they wash themselves how they wash themselves.
So do you scrub your back with the same vigor you scrub your ass crack? To me that seems like it would be ridiculous. Remember that soap in addition to removing dirt and bacteria also strips natural oils and can dry skin. Using soap to wash your body is not a universal good.

I’m not making it out to be onerous. I’m asking why you do it. Your argument appears to be because it’s not onerous and not that this is a part of the body that needs to cleaned with soap. I realize most people have probably not really thought about why they do certain things and just do but when you have skin that is sensitive to soap and drys out you start to target the areas that need it.
