A few years ago it took us over 90mins to exit that shopping area when the lights went on the fritz. Even the secret exit was bumper to bumper. Another time I could see it was another bumperhump so great excuse to go for dinner.

Also at Beacon Hill where the Staples and Dollar store are, they make it hard to exit and actually head to Costco. You either have to drive Sarcee or do some other weird long-way-around block driving. Lastly... those aren't speed bumps. They're small mountains.

And to top it off isn’t that the Costco that’s backwards from all the other locations? Why? Is it some kind of Skinner box?

We always use the back door. Much easier and quicker. A couple big speed bumps back there though.

Also easy to just park along the ridge and walk to the entrance, avoiding the 700 cars that think everyone else somehow missed an open spot front row.

The incompetent ####ing sobeys by my house. Shopped there weekly for like 5 years. They removed all plastic bags, whatever. But then they made the self checkout bring your own bag only. They flat out refuse to put paper bags there because they don’t trust people to pay for them.

So you can imagine on a busy Saturday afternoon when they only have 1 till open with 20 people lined up and no one using the self checkout.

Last time I go there. Too bad. It was a good store. Thankfully I have lots of choice nearby.

If you i drove, why not just throw everything back in he cart or basket and take it to your vehicle?

I guess eventually all stores will go that route and everyone will have to adapt to the situation.

I also assume that there is no parking except at the very far end, and donít bother with anything closer unless there is a sure thing and nobody about to poach it. Some people have the patience to wait for somebody to pack their things up and put their cart away, but that just seems like a waste of time.

Free online ordering and curbside pickup is the way to go.

Lol, what? Why would you not just be going there all the time, but bringing a reusable bag? You'll never have to wait in a line to buy groceries again. Imagine the convenience! There's a golden opportunity just staring you in the face!

This is going to be a disaster when Safeway does this as their self checkouts require the attendant to approve the reusable bags who is rarely there for consistent lengths of time.

Then you just end up standing there for minutes until you eventually give up waiting, remove bags, cancel out, scan items and then bag them after you're done paying.

I hope more Safeways get reno'd like the Beltline one. They have an express checkout path to 6 or 8 small manned cashiers.

The newest Canadian tire at Deerfoot city mall is like this, just one giant line to multiple cashiers. It's brilliant. All the impulse items you can think of along the way.

What grinds my gears - the news had a story of a person who has a miniature horse as her service animal and they were allowed to fly with the horse on a plane. This is insane, why do you need a miniature horse as your service animal, because you are starved for attention, that’s why. Why the heck would that animal be allowed on a plane, because our society is now programmed to pander to these types of idiots. My gears are grinding.
