Good talk about talent taking a long time to learn how to win. How much does this apply to the Flames?

And he did his absolute best to turn Bennett into a checking forward. I will never forgive him for that.

Comes in as a rookie under hartley and looked like there was something. Then.....checking forward under glue gun.

Yeah that was stupid of Glen, but at least he, for a time, tried out Gaudreau with Bennett at center for a while. They had an absolute monster of a game in Johnny's first game back from his broken thumb, that 8-3 shelling of the Ducks on Dome ice.

Then Chiasson vanished, Bennett had ridiculously bad puck luck and Johnny couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Oh well.

I think significantly applicable.

Well I'm glad someone finally realized that taking a player whose best assets, by far, are his defensive decision making and anticipation, and putting him in the position that utilizes those assets the least was a poor choice. Then you add the fact that this player struggles to generate offensive for himself and it compounds into a line where the centre is weak defensively, and one of the wingers is weak offensively, and shockingly things don't work out.

Play players to their strengths, not weaknesses. Rocket appliances.
