For the league, to determine draft position. I don't think multiple teams would like it if the league just cancelled the games and kept the Flames and Canucks where they are in the lottery standings.

Next steps:

-Try to move up a few spots in the draft lottery rankings (especially after last night, where we went, as a matter of fact, from 6th-11th).
I think the next step is to fire Trelieving. He has no business having anything to do with this franchise as of right now. Markstrom, Lindholm and Backlund head back to Sweden tomorrow. Monahan immediately has the 1st of his his usual 7 off-season surgeries. Gaudreau takes leave to begin interviewing realtors to sell his house. Tkachuk plays 28 minutes a night to figure his crap out.

I'd rather be out of the playoffs as opposed to getting steam rolled by the Leafs in the first round.

Time to play players like Phillips and Ruzicka and see what they can do.

Haha I like your comment in general but especially the one about Monahan’s off-season surgeries.

I’m honestly glad this is finally over. Worst season ever. Time to make some necessary changes to this roster and give Sutter a team he can work with next year.

Part of the highlights on SN was a short clip of McStupid getting a bandaid put on a little boo boo on his finger. So ridiculous.

Oilers didn't eliminate the Flames, although they will take credit and probably put a banner up. The Flames eliminated themselves. Skating stupidly slow under Ward and taking too long to crank it up under Darryl.

I hope the summer goes well for the team and we are past the sh$tshow of this season.

Better teams lose in the playoffs all the time.

It’s not like the Leafs are some juggernaut, they essentially were the best team in the NHL’s weakest division.

The only bright spot about this season is knowing i didn't pay to watch this sad excuse of a team in person.

Looking forward to a big shake up this summer.

Lose out and you can probably get up 3 spots maybe 4. Win even 2 and it’s a pick in the teens

Think the Kraken will be any good next year, lol.

Disappointing season for sure, probably the worst in a while as a Flames fan. Time for some changes and build around the better players we have, Bye Brad.

We were done a long time ago. The good news is we can still cheer to have the Oilers getting eliminated.

Not that Montreal is good and any kind of bar either. They get the nod on loser points. I bet in 2 weeks the Flames are better off than the Habs.
Habs are .500 against the Sens. If the Flames were .500 they would have 3 additional points and would still be able to qualify for the playoffs.

If you think the Flames could beat the Leafs in a 7 game series, you're dreaming.

If they'd dialed down 'The Suck' to a reasonable volume a month or so ago this wouldnt have been a problem.

As soon as you leave your fate in someone else's hands, you have no control over what they do with it.

This is 100% Calgary's fault.

I only fly my car flags when the Flames are in the playoffs. I bought them in 2004. They are still in remarkably good condition.

I was talking wins and losses. I guess the Habs picked up more loser points.

Flames were bad overall though, not just against the Sens. Really neither team should be in the playoffs.
