Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Spoilers Thread)
I put the spoilers tag on this, so fair warning not to read unless you've watched the latest episode.

I liked this more than WandaVision, a bit more "classic Marvel." Obviously some set up in the first episode, introducing new supporting characters (Sam's sister), new villains, etc. I was surprised at the length and quality of the initial action sequence. Felt movie like. Be interesting to see if they have the budget to keep that up throughout the series.

Yeah I liked the first episode a lot. Liked how Cheadle was in it — wonder if he makes it through the whole series. I thought Bucky's story was really compelling.

Doubt it, he is busy with War Machine, which better be effing good.
It was an ok opening, I like the idea of Bucky going through reconciliation with his victims.

Better than any episode of Wandavision for me. I liked it. Lets see where it goes.

That was a decent start, good mix. While I appreciate the different view points these series are offering us, I just had to laugh at the Falcon getting denied a loan being an episode lol.
Episode 2: The Falcon goes grocery shopping, and the Avocados are to ripe!!!
Episode 3: The Falcon changes the oil on his truck, and it gets on the driveway!!!!!!
Jokes aside interested to see where it goes. Cool to see GSP back in the mix.

I liked it as well. Barnes had his moments in the movies, but just in this first episode he's quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. Good start to the series IMO.

Winter Soldier is probably my favourite Marvel movie and I don't even really like Captain America.

Hmmmmm do we know if War Machine is definitely happening after this show? I remember people being surprised when Black Widow died because she still had her movie coming up.
I dunno, I got an impending Rhodey death vibe from his scene the first episode. It felt weirdly ominous to me. But maybe I'm looking too far into it.

I actually didn't like it much at all, I guess we need to be primed to expect than we can't binge these like Netflix, and they are standalone episodes. I thought maybe with less of a mystery plot and a shorter season they would jump in a little faster, found it to be a lot of dry setup with little story to bite into, Wandavision a similar start but the format gave you a pretty good understanding why they went that way.
I'm guessing I'll be a lot more into in Episode 3 when the plot starts taking shape. And it needed more Agent 13. Shows can always benefit from a little Emily Van Camp .

So this is Sam's becoming Captain America origin story?
Was good enough to keep watching.

So Falcon being poor is pretty ridiculous. Stark was worth billions, you would think that if an Avenger was going to lose their house that Pepper could at least loan them the money.
I know it was a meta do super hero get paid joke but to spend that much time it wasn’t worth the pay off. Also doesn’t he get paid from the military for those covert ops?
I think the set up was good.
Clearly new Captain America is a bad guy and the masked group super hero was the guy in the passenger seat of the Senators car so the US government has been infiltrated by Hydra again.

Budget is the same as the movies I'm pretty sure Feige said

Yeah these are essentially just chopped-up MCU movies. They all have enormous money behind them.

I think that Marvel was going to hit on this storyline eventually, it's right in their wheel house of distracting heros with real world problems. Falcon does seem like the best fit right now.
Given all of the backstories
Iron-Man & Wasp: Family Money
Thor & Black Panther: Have peasants in their Kingdoms to do the work.
Cap: Got some sweet PSA acting gigs when he needed cash
Hulks: probably has tenure at some uni, they couldn't even fire him what he was in hiding in India
Hawkeye & Black Widow: were professional spys before shield went down, they have IDs & Cash stashed all over Europe just in case (see Jason Bourne Movies).
Wanda & Visions: Lived in Tonys basement until she just started making food and shelter with her mind.
Warmachine: gets an officers salary
Ant-man: has to hold down a job while being a hero
Spider-man: His aunt still pays the bills
Bucky: is in some probation/half way house agreement.
Dr Strange: runs a cult, probably taking tithes from his crazy followers.
Falcon was a volunteer counselor at the VA, that don't pay s**t.
The rest of them are off in space, dealing with space problems.

My early prediction is whatever gave that goon in Switzerland super strength is going to find it's way to Falcon and then he'll take the Captain America mantle from the pretender
