Manitoba is really good. Really good.

Also, its taken me a while to like Bottcher beyond being Albertas rep.

I now not only completely understand how good a curler he is (cemented that last year)...i have really grown to like his personality and would love to sit and have a beer with the guy.

In fact, I like the whole team.

Oh...and this 10th end is a ....clusterfata.

Yikes.

Oh....and the rock speeds..."good medium"..."smooth medium".

Never heard either one before.

Some exciting finishes there. Middaugh’s draw actually wrecked but he made it.

Some very good 2 loss teams need to win tomorrow. And Mcewen with 3 losses on life support.

Middaugh is 4-1. Legend continues. That shot he made this morning to win was incredible.

The shot he made last night was ridiculous as well.

That team is rollin....no pressure either as not one of them expected to even be here.

Good stuff.

So. Many. Blank. Ends.

Through 8 ends in the NO/MB game, its 2-0. 6 blank ends.

Don't see a shutout in curling very often! And the McEwan team should disband. Carruthers is not a third.

I have a hard time rooting for Carruthers. Nothing against him as a person but the “helper” when throwing is just a bad look and so is the gut. I know it’s just curling but it’s still an athletic competition after all.

Pretty sure he had a bad knee injury years ago that caused a delivery change and the “helper” helps him out.

Howard is performing much better than I expected - was surprised to see him at 6-1 when checking the standings.

Championship pool could be a mess of teams with similar records. Koe would be really well set up for top 3 if he can win again later today and go into the pool at 7-1. So many teams with only 2 losses so far - it's tight!

While watching the Scotties I started to wonder why I like women's curling more than men's curling. Then I started watching the Brier and remembered all the dumb blank ends. Men's are too good at hitting now, so blanks are plentiful and there just seems to be less finesse overall.

I've certainly found over the last number of years that the women's game is more enjoyable as it more closely resembles the game that I play at the club level. The men's teams have taken the hitting game to such a level that their strategy bears little resemblance to anything I'd play - they need to guard against shots that nobody would ever attempt, let alone make and they can bail out of ends that would be disastrous for normal teams.

I don't hate watching the men's game as the talent level is crazy high, but it's a very different game.

Even if Quebec beats Koe, they're getting no help. Looking like four 6-2 teams will come out of Group B.

And we get Ontario AGAIN tonight. They are already through. So are their opponents in Manitoba.

Its the Wayne Middaugh retirement tour now.

Just brutal.

Not getting my eyeballs tonight.

The match they should be showing is NB vs NT but who's going to watch that? Manitoba is not through, they could drop into a tiebreaker. Bottcher as well.

Middaugh is making everything.

I feel like I'm in a time machine watching Wayne Middaugh and Darryl Sutter.
