So after Elon's comments about sustainable crypto, almost every coin is tanking except Cardano, which is rocketing up today ($2.55 currently). This is fun

Nice to see ADA moving significantly against the general market.

Elon's a smart guy and he learns well. No doubt he got a visit from the SEC when he tried to manipulate Tesla's stock price, so he learns that there is no oversight of Crypto and he can manipulate to his hearts content. I'm not a big Elon fan, but I do like that he seems to be fully leaning into the Bond villain thing.

The SEC is the one who got a visit, to receive a briefcase of unmarked "look the other way" bills.

John McAfee is currently being charged for similar activity (though to a greater degree), the issue with Elon is he dragged Tesla into it his pump and dump with Bitcoin.

Why can't Elon say whatever he wants about crypto? It's different when it involves his own stock.

People don't have to listen to him.

It's all blatant penny stock manipulation, I have no idea if it's legal but its morally indefensible

The part that is bad is him pushing up the price, that's how a pump and dump works, hence the name 'pump'

With crypto prices you have to take the good with the bad as it's more of a pure market with a much lower bar for entry than the nyse for example. So its a bit like the wild west. The difficult to regulate nature is kind of the point which does unfortunately mean shysty stuff like pump and dump ico garbage can happen and often does. But it also means that innovative ideas that solve real problems have a lower bar for entry as well.

I don't care about btc or doge really, I think they are what they are today simply by being the first mover of their sort. I do think they will be here for as long as cryptocurrency is.
I did almost buy doge when it jumped astronomically up to 5 cents back in January then collapsed down to 3 cents, purely out of greed, but figured there was no way such a useless token could go back up to 5 cents or beyond. Even though I missed out I think its cool to see markets in their purest forms.

Slow and steady with ADA for me.

Binance could be in a lot of trouble. Accusations of money laundering.

This is a surprise? what ever good comes of crypto and blockchain it will only be found after the whole thing has crashed utterly and no one looks on this as an investment in any way, at that point its real practical value may emerge

Won't amount to anything because their US operations are done at arm's length via a "local" group out of California and with a crippled site.
