The Skydome is going to be electric when Toronto gets to watch this team live again.

Can't wait. I'm thinking mid July we may see the Jays move back to Toronto. And if our vaccine count is as high as it's supposed to be by then they may even move back without fan limits.

Pretty rough day for the Braves. Lose a lead late to get swept in the series, but also lose Acuņa for the near future. This has not been a good week for that team.

This team is loaded with talent, and tons of fun. Vladdy is the best, just hilarious.
One of the toughest schedules so far, and crazy injuries, and they are right here. This team is one great starter from being a real power.
AND they still have tons of talent in the system. They are potentially set for years.
Exciting, and fun to watch. They are the polar opposite of the Flames right now.

I highly doubt the federal government would allow that

That was a great performance from Romano. If he sets up that slider early in the inning guys have to respect and then he can just pound that fastball down the middle.

I think some people are going to be surprised with how quickly things move once once we start hitting that 55-65% vaccinated rate.

Yeah
no
Sure this isnt the Federal Government with this decision, but it is still a level of government that would need to allow the Jays to play in Toronto. I dont see July being at all possible, and with the below I doubt August is either.
And that of course still assumes that the border will be open to international travellers without quarantine restrictions, which would be required for USA Baseball teams to land in Toronto

The City of Toronto has cancelled all major in-person events for a second straight summer due to COVID-19, it confirmed Friday.
Toronto continues to grapple with high levels of COVID-19 during the pandemic's third wave, though daily case numbers have been declining in recent weeks. The cancellations stretch all the way to Labour Day, even as provincial officials expressed hope yesterday that July and August would be as normal as possible.
Mayor John Tory told CBC Radio's Metro Morning that he believes the city will be in much better place by the late summer, but he's not sure it will safe to be "shoulder to shoulder" with huge groups of people.

Yeah.....they *might* get some games in September but there will be nothing before that.

The City of Toronto says it is cancelling all major in-person, outdoor events until Sept. 6 for the second year in a row to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Some of the cancelled events include the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), Caribbean Carnival, Honda Indy, and Taste of the Danforth (full list below).
The city had previously cancelled major events up until July 1 but extended it until September, affecting all summer festivals and activities.

I think the difference there (maybe with the exception of the Indy, though I don't know how that works) is all those events have masses of people just walking around without much control. Assigned seating in a stadium could be viewed as much different, where you could start to get some percentage of people in the stands and have much more control over keeping people apart.
I'm surprised by the summer cancellation news to be honest. The feds just said a few days ago that pretty much everyone would have one shot by summer, so to cancel all summer events seems a bit odd.

No, that's not gonna happen. Maybe in September.

Yes. One shot... we're not going to get mass gatherings with 10's of thousands of people until enough people get the second shot (or more accurately the full immunization based on which ever vaccine they got). We'll have enough vaccine for everyone eligible to have the first shot by the end of June (unless trial data opens up vaccine eligibility) but we won't have enough for everyone to get the 2nd shot until the end of August. I'm not sure where the threshold for allowing MLB level crowds will be but I wouldn't wager on that level + stadium operations being ready + travel restrictions being lifted before September.
Calgary Comic Con just canceled for July/August of this year as well but they didn't outright cancel for the year so I imagine they're getting the same message from people that capacity events of that size won't be a go until September.

Not a very good product when teams are playing AAA guys regularly.

Yeah the injuries to pitchers league wide is concerning at best. I feel like it has to do with the hyper focus on velocity and spin rate. Pitching is already such a unnatural motion and when you add the extra torque they are these days its a recipe for Tommy John.
