Well. The Flames were definitely starved for a win on home ice. Despite my Sportsnet feed leaving a sour taste in my mouth, I was able to make lemonade out of lemons and find a way to watch the game. There was also a veritable smorgasbord of goals early, but it was mostly a meat-and-potatoes effort that got the job done. Tonight, the Flames proved that, sometimes, you CAN have your cake and eat it too.

And there's the line.

yeah, well, i guess "good" might have been too strong... i didn't see him good or bad, so that now counts as good, especially after a win i guess

Flames blow a 2-0 1st period lead and win.

Oilers blow a 2-0 1st period lead and lose.

I’m okay with both of these things.

Relatively a satisfactory game from the Flames.

String along some wins now.

Sean Monahan was the best player on the ice tonight

The game winning goal was a thing of beauty.

- Johnny with a beauty pass
- Hanifin with a one touch immediate pass to Monahan
- Monahan quickly looks over his shoulder to see the one touch pass coming, quickly corrals it and deposits it behind Lundqvist

I loved the shot they had from behind the net of Monahan. Makes you really appreciate how quickly and calmly he reacted to a spur of the moment play development.

A thing of beauty

Beyond the game winning goal, he had some really solid defensive play. As good as he is at quietly finding space to score, he also is good at quietly being where he needs to be in the D zone, and it’s underrated

Best effort of the year, if not the decade.

Not a downer, always enjoy a W but I think this team needs to be beyond playing with little structure and getting a good bounce to get a win. This team doesn’t really have an identity, doesn’t slot their players for success, and whose best players work ethic is a dice roll. It’s time for these guys to be held to higher standard, but feel free to call me whatever.

This!

Might be the best game I’ve ever seen Monahan play.

Lots of quality shots, could of scored a couple. And he was super physical and making things happen.

Well say whatever you want about the opponent...they have beaten

Carolina x3, Washington, Toronto, Vegas, ect.

And they didn't get a bounce to win...in fact the winning goal was a beauty and they dominated the 3rd when up by a goal

If you are talking about Ryan's goal both teams had one of those
