I'd like to try Czarnik in that spot. He has more experience at the NHL level, and has an above average shot/release. Could help with PP2 as well.

I'd rather see Dube on the 2nd line but Reider's play has been good and he deserves a chance to start a game on the 2nd line. I don't think it will amount to much for him or the line, but until Dube really steps up he shouldn't be gifted that spot if others are playing better than him.

Draft Pick

Czarnik has really been lighting it up in the minors. I am very interested in seeing him with Monny and Johnny, in favour of Rieder and Dube for future games. Alas, due to cap issues, it would likely mean sending both Dube and Rinaldo down since they are both waiver exempt.

Taking a while to get to 5000

I suggested Rieder in the top 6 with Bennett-Backlund-Frolik being together a few days ago. I feel like the smartest person in the room.
Of course in this room I'm by myself at the moment...

Gawdin is a guy who could be interesting in a RW spot on this team.
33 points in 30 games in the AHL now, maybe give him a shot on the right flank with Monahan/Gaudreau.
He plays a strong forechecking and gritty game, style wise I think he could make sense there

I am not sure that Gawdin has the skating ability to play in the show. That said, there is always room on a roster for a player who can find the back of the net.

Rangers got screwed by the refs in Edmonton... hopefully the league doesn't try to "even things up"

Powerplay Quarterback

Hope Bennett plays strong game. Glad Brodie is back. Hope both play "their" game and don't worry about what everybody else wants, then maybe we actually see how good they are and help turn things around.

Glad to see Backlund centering the 3rd line. The ony adjustment i would make, is putting Ryan on wing with Mony and Gaudreau.

I think I would rather see Bennett and Reider swapped. Reider has a good history of playing with Frolik and adds a good dimension of speed to that line. Bennett played well with Monahan last game, and has looked good with Johnny in the past. Not being on the top line shelters him a bit to make some mistakes (probably inevitable.)
These lines are pretty interesting though! Really, any lineup without Junko in it looks miles better. GFG!

If the flames are down by three or less at the end of the first, I will consider it an improvement

I might be at rock bottom for my care level now. Wake me up when the Flames care more than me, which will be never, because they’ve now all made their big $$$$$ and winning evidently isn’t enough.

LOL we have Gaudreau, Monahan, and Lindholm all making well below what their statistical peers are... We are in for a world of hurt when their contracts come due.

Oh, they probably will, but fear not, I'm sure they will give the Flames their 1 token powerplay.

That is literally not the definition of "an improvement."

Think you missed my point. The difference between 900k/year and 5-6MM is monstrous compared to 6-10 or whatever the hell. I’m talking about actual lifestyle impact.
