Nice try though. Lets start playing on time next game.

They shouldn’t need to be told too.

I think it's worth focusing on though.

The Flames are a lot better team than the blackhawks, and yet, not.

20 minutes of consistent play and they probably win this game, whether that's in the first, second or third periods.

It was how they won last year all the time. They just managed to play to their ability for a full period or more and if it was more than a full period they blew the doors off.

I don't know why the organization insists on running their goalies into the ground but it looks like we are there with Rittich and that's too bad because he's extremely likeable.

Coach sucks. Rittich isn't right. Offense, Meh.

These losers had 2 games against non-playoff teams to get breathing room for a divisional playoff spot. Looked terrible in both.

Does anyone really think this team is better than last year???

Am I terrible for not even cheering to be a wc team and hoping that the wheels just fall off completely instead?

F it, this team sucks. I ain't cheering based off some garbage time bull ish.

This team isn't good, treliving talks a hell of game. 5 years have gone by, I have seen enough, your learning on the job.

On another note, Bennett, instead of being proud of yourself and backing off, wake the f up and start games like that. How many more years do you need to figure that out genius.

Dead cat bounce is complete. Time to follow through with a change to the core, and when that’s done let’s get a coach that wasn’t fished out of the bargain bin for once.

They were the better team in reality but they were sleepy to start and goaltending didn’t help them out.

Expected goals were:

1st: 0.84 Flames to 1.06 Chicago
2nd: 1.43 to 0.5
3rd: 1.45 to 0.84

Total: 3.73 to 2.4

So being down 3-0 after 1 was unlucky and it’s back to back games where Rittich started them off behind the 8 ball.

Team still needs to be better but goaltending has been a bit part of these last two games.

The whole team should have to stay in the room and watch that game from beginning to end. See how they like it on New Year's Eve.

He was the first player to wake up on the entire team, and dragged everyone else along.

Pretty much the perfect Flames game to end the decade on. Showed no emotion, played with no drive for 50 minutes yet had the skill to make it close anyways.

That is beyond frustrating as a fan.

Hard to win when their goalie plays better than ours. Rittich didn’t cost us the Vancouver game but he surely was the biggest factor in the loss tonight. Seemed to battle back the rest of the game, which is a good sign.

Start Talbot on Thursday and hope to carry the momentum from the third period against the Rangers.

The Flames deserved better but slow starts and leaky goaltending are not a formula for success.

Good riddance to 2019 and the decade of Flames hockey in general. Here’s to a better 2020 and beyond.

all of their best players were better than calgary's.

Keith had a great game, Pat Kane had a terrific game. Lehner outstanding.

if Kane scores in the first to make it 5-0 instead of ringing it off the cross bar this is probably game over.

True. I hope that this is a springboard game for him (as I have a dozen times in the past).

At least we know, we just need to be down by 4 to invigorate him....

Not going to win many NHL games with that quality of goaltending. Period.

Nothing wrong here. But the team focusing on the positives from a last period push ignores the issues that force them there in the first place.

And yes they need to figure out why the team plays worse in front of Talbot and that might require forcing that issue.

And now. More drinking. Happy New Year Flash!

Why can't Sam bring that every night. So frustrating seeing how good he can be.

And let’s hope the play from Sam’s 23rd “breakout” game lasts longer than most of our 2020 resolutions.
