Garnet Hathaway kicking all the ass for the Caps just now.

Hathaway and Leipsic just dominated Anaheim all shift.

Leipsic ran both Ducks defencemen over causing complete mayhem, letting Stephenson walk in to score. Hathaway then beat the #### out of Grant in a fight, then had Ritchie and Gudbranson try and fight him.

Gudbranson was throwing punches at Hathaway between the officials, really dirty.

I think he spat at Gudbranson.

Hathaway deserved the penalty for spitting, but Gudbranson threw a couple dirty punches with 2 refs in between them AND Ritchie holding Hathaway's arm so he couldn't even defend himself.

Very lame, but if you actually watch the video you can see why. Alomar was being a little baby and spat at an official, Hathaway was getting cheap shotted and spat at the dirt bag.

It took about 5 minutes until they zoomed in on the ref's notepad to notice the match penalty, then the refs reviewed it to see if the match was warranted.

The broadcast didn't know what the penalty was for because the refs didn't announce the specifics. Pretty easy to miss IMO.

Gudbranson should be suspended for it.

Also, watching the Capitals play is a good reminder of just how far the Flames are from being a championship quality team. Their players are bigger, faster, work harder, and are more talented.

Gudbranson should be suspended by the rules I'm pretty sure. I can't remember the exact rule but you can't throw punches like that after the linesman/ref step in between two players. I remember it being introduced many many years ago relating to the safety of the officials back when it was common to see linesman getting knocked out when they tried to stop it.
