Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2020 - Round 18

It's time for the 8th annual Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking, but at a different time of year and certainly at a different time.

Once again vote how you want. There are those that vote 100% on potential, some that vote 100% on the likelihood to see an NHL rink, others that apply a mix, some using the value in a trade. Completely up to you.

I'll run one a day until we are done, and then FlamesAddiction wants to do a one off list version to compare the results.

We start with 35 names so this should get us pretty close to a Flames camp.

Below are some up to date stats of some of the prospects most likely to be picked in the next few rounds. Stats is not a tell all but will give some basis to help voters.



Philp: Stockon GM52 G19 A12 P31

Poolman: NCAA GM31 G4 A13 P17

Karnaukhov: KHL GM 22 G7 A3 P10

Boltmann: USHL GM17 G2 A7 P9

Tuulola: Allsv GM11 G2 A2 P4

Francis: QMJHL GM10 G3 A8 P11 -11 (noting it because it's so low)

Philp looks like a shooter with middle six upside, Francis has good point totals, terrible +/- (which could be noise or nothing), and Poolman has consistent stats the last two years (minimal growth) but maybe he's a solid bottom pair defenseman.

Personally I think I'm going to vote Philp because he's closest and I'm not sure there is a strong likelihood of high upside left in the remaining candidates. Though I'll probably vote Boltmann or Francis next.

Boltman is a grower not a shower.

It is interesting looking around the internet there is not a whole lot of info on him pre draft.

I have faith in Jim Cummins selections; he has hit a few out of the park with Gaudreau, and Fox. Pettersen looks like a good late pick, so going with Nodler and Boltman next

Yeah that was my reasoning. If the Flames scouts had him graded high enough to snag in the 3rd, then I will differ to them on Boltmann.
