I think the third line will be Dube-Backlund-Pitlick. You don’t sign Pitlick and not have him on a checking line.

If Barclay Goodrow can be a solid third line contributor on a cup-winning team, Pitlick should be just fine on the third line of an inferior lineup like ours. Their advanced stats are quite similar. He’s better than Lewis, Richardson, Ritchie.

They have what looks to be a good first line, a massive question mark on the second line, and then a bunch of guys you hope don't have the other team beat up on the scoreboard on the bottom six.
After looking at this mess, Treliving should be relieved of his duties.

This is a common type of take every year, and very common for the Flames this year. However, total penalty minutes just don't align with team makeup the way fans would expect or assume.
Last year, Tampa and Florida led the league in PIMs - who would have guessed that without looking? The bottom 10 included some of the most physical teams, including WPG, VGS and LAK.
Notably, NYI were 29th in PIMs, a team that is possibly the most similar to the '21 Flames in style and makeup.
The butter-soft Flames of last year were middle of the pack, wedged between PHI and STL, all just a smidge more than EDM. And the Flames were nothing like STL or PHI last year.
You can't even argue that it is correlated to puck possession because TBL led the league in PIMs and BUF, who probably had the puck as little as anyone, were last.
So yeah... not too concerned with the comment in bold.

Agreed. It might be Lucic - Backlund - Pitlick (would prefer Dube, personally) but Pitlick is likely to be there.

As is everything you've posted. Proof will be in the pudding, but we should be observing history and learning from it. History has not been kind to this team.

There were rumours of Futa and the Flames earlier this year wasn’t there?
Edit:
First thing that I found is referencing a Rick Dhaliwal mention.

Maybe. Neither Feaster nor Darryl made it to end of the calendar year in their final season.
But if Futa was their guy, the offseason would have been the time.

I agree that if a change was going to be made it would have been prior to the draft or at least free agency. Why give the current GM the vote of confidence to make these changes and oversee those picks only to fire him a few months into the season? I'm all for a change at the GM position but Treliving will survive the season.

Firing a head coach during the season can change the plight of the team on the ice but firing the GM won't. I think you only fire Treliving during the season if ownership wants a resolution with Gaudreau and have lost faith that he can get that done.

It could be like 2010-11 where Sutter had the half vote of confidence but once the team got off to a brutal start they fired Sutter. Feaster was in the organization already but maybe they have had chats with Futa and he is ready to step in if the team gets off to a terrible start?

Entirely possible but given his past record and if they were so uncertain of him it doesn't make much sense to me to let him do all that off season work including contract negotiations (we assume) with Gaudreau just to let him go if the team sputters at the start of the year. I think he'll be judged by the entire season but stranger thing have happened, with the Flames no less as you've pointed out.

Regardless of whether or not the Futa stuff is just orange Julius bs, gaudreau's contract runs down and that will push me into the its time for him to go camp.
I think losing Johnny for nothing at 28 would be probably one of the worst Ls in flames history asset management wise and set the team back a few years.
Now that it's been left this late and his value has been run down treliving basically needs to re-sign his or it is a huge fail. I hope he has had a plan all along (Read knew a deal was doable) and is not just flying by the seat of his pants here.
