we should have just signed Sbisa like the Jets did, I’d have taken him as our 6th over the other 3

Tennyson doesn’t have a clue what to do with it either. He is just a really bad player even as a #6.
It’s weird some want to give up so much rope, while on the other hand want Gusev tossed into the sun.
The issue is one that has been brought up in the preseason. We are extremely shallow depth wise on the blueline. Painfully so.

God Tennyson is so ****ing bad.

Veteran move by Hall to just give the puck away at the blue line.

Horrid play by Hall there
Very weak defense by Hughes, you need to tie the guy up there in front of the net

God ****ing dammit these are the same stupid plays that just bite this team in the ass every time. Hall does this way too much

Again Hall causing goals.. for the other team
Infuriating. Hes been making dumb plays like this a Lot so far this year and they always directly lead to a goal fir the wrong team. Like, did Anybody Not see that coming?!

Severson makes mistake after mistake.
Good players realize that Severson is weak and they start pulling moves on him, realizing the chance of beating him with a simple dangle is easy.

Why is the 4th line out there just after we give up a goal ? Flames kept the momentum going and surprised they didn’t get another one .
Hall probably has friends / family at the game. Quit F’ing around with the puck Hall and try to show off.

Trade Hall now. He’s playing like he doesn’t give a crap.
I don’t want that attitude around our young guys .
We have crap leadership . If Stevens still played he would rip into Hall and tell him to pull his head out of his ass

Hall really **** the bed that period. He’s been in the league forever at this point and to do what he did on that second goal against, **** off man. Even if your coach is clueless, you just can’t play a shift like that. He should know better.

It’s so frustrating, Hall looked great springing Hughes for the first goal and then he just sort of checked out of the game like he got his requisite point to make sure he gets paid and was like, ‘meh I’m good’.

I don't think we had a shot on goal for at least the last 7+ minutes of the period.
I clearly remember looking at the app to see what shots were around 7.5 minutes left in the period and they were 18-13 Flames.

Awful. Awful. Period. Just reverting right back to the beginning of season. Starts w hall being an *******. Trade him already.
Quote:
I’m watching the game on Sportsnet. They just had a segment on Hall.
Eric Francis (Calgary journalist ) and Cory Sarich ( ex player now analyst) said they 100% believe that Hall is gone .They said:
1. He has had issues with the fans and the relationship is rough
2. He wants to be on a contender and the Devils have been bad this year and look they cannot see they being a contender with the goaltending they have.
3. Hall likes being in a city with more to do and be embraced by the fans and city.
4. Devils forward group looks promising but goaltending is a huge issue and they can’t see the Devils being competitive enough to keep Hall . Looks like Hall is not committed and not giving 100%
Quote:
Jesus, this is the worst I think Hall has ever looked as a Devil.
Quote:
Ya not wanting to give a guy 10 million a year when he gives up and stops trying when the team is not doing good.

They've outshot us 20-5 since the start of the 2nd period.
But none of this is Hynes fault? We've been a joke possession team since he's been here.
The biggest BS line we're fed is the ''Attacking'' part of the stupid ''Fast, attacking supportive'' BS, which I realize was probably a Shero thing and not a Hynes thing, but reagrdless of who started it, I don't see any attacking out there, except by the other team and it's been this way for almost 5 years.

Quote:
Flames are content to just shoot the puck and use their mobility and our non-mobility to control the perimeter. it has been more than effective and caused the Devils to run around in chaos for most of the game, which has opened up lanes and allowed them to get to the danger areas. This game should be a clear cut case for why Hynes is not a suitable coach for this team.
Quote:
they were outcoached, period. Calgary is better systemically and their players know where each other are on the ice and how to generate offense. the same cannot be said for New Jersey under John Hynes with any consistency. They are also soft, unable to climb out of a hole, ever it would seem. There is no fight back.

Calgary finished what, near the top of the West last year? or close to it? Can’t say i’m surprised by this. They were really good in all areas, sticks on pucks, Devils couldn’t get out of their own zone cleanly all night. It’s one game, but it hurts. We have a long way to go.
Also this team definitely misses Jesper Bratt.

Sounds like Devils fans are pretty frustrated with Hall. He's got elite skills but I don't believe he has the hockey smarts to match his skills as he's still making some of the bonehead plays he made as an Oiler.

I I think the Flames should step up and trade for Hall as a rental and not sign him.
Not sure how they would fit him under cap this season, but I'm sure it's possible.
Well that is just nonsensical. Why would you pay rental price of a 1st ++ and consciously NOT sign him?

When he starts to play like he has to do everything himself, he’s terrible.

You can take the player out of the oiler stench (trade is 1 for 1!) but you can’t take the Oiler stench out of the player.
Well that is just nonsensical. Why would you pay rental price of a 1st ++ and consciously NOT sign him?
Because Hall at 10m x 7 yrs is not desirable under the cap, but Hall on this team for a cup run is.
I should qualify that it is a gamble, obviously, and someone (not any of us) needs to make the call as to whether the team is good enough to risk it.
I like that the Flames seemed to take Peters’ criticism to heart, played accordingly, and won handily. That’s a good lesson for them.
I thought it was their best game of the year. Especially liked how when trailing 2-1 although dominating NJ, they just kept the pressure on until they succeeded.
The real test will come if they can continue this trend.
Hall is a good player but not a great player, he needs other players and isn't good enought to do it all himself. Unfortunately he still seems to think he is one of the great players and gets himself into trouble trying to do to much himself, where as when he uses the players around him he makes good plays, like the pass on their first goal.

Yeah that was the exact response you wanted from a team the coach called out. Shows everyone is on the same page.
Listening to the radio spot with Friedman, he mentioned teams that will be judged on their playoff results tend to have problems finding that hunger in the regular season. Mentioned that Toronto and Tampa also going through a little bit of that.
Definitely a game of good habits to build off from. Time to go streaking!

Last night really showcased his bad side. The offside he took at one point was so blatant and telegraphed that I had to wonder if he even knew what the offside rule was. I could just imagine what his teammates must have been thinking.
It's such a waste when a player with so much skill has such a low HIQ. He can still be an effective player, but not one you can constantly rely on. I would take him as a 2nd liner that can clean up on the PP, but not at his price tag.
