PP2 finally has the right makeup.

Bennett, Hanifin, Andersson up top. Backlund in the middle, Lucic in front and in the corners.

PP1 needs to stop whipping the puck around the boards endlessly.

I really feel the Flames need to go all in this year and to your point Hall has shown he can be an impact player when the team is somewhat ok which hasn’t happened often in Hall’s career. If he came here and started playing regularly with Tkachuk or Lindholm while running the 2nd PP unit I could see a more engaged player in Hall come back and help push this team over the top.

The top 6 is missing that last piece IMO and I really do feel Hall could be incredibly successful here with the added benefit of trolling the Oilers being an amazing perk as well!

For me its Gaudreau.... to Gio..... to Gaudreau..... to Gio..... to Gaudreau....

At least they finally figured out to put Lindy on his off wing for one-timers.

Thought that was Reider's best game as a Flame tonight...fast, hard on the forecheck and had a lot of chances.

Really promising performance by the Flames. That goal by Gaudreau on the mini breakaway was very encouraging, he looks to be getting his confidence back which is extremely positive news.

Not really anything but positives in that game.

Hanifin was all world tonight. Love the pinch and the subsequent moves to get behind the net.

Go flames!

Rittich seems to be pretty good at shutting it down when he has to. It leads to a winning record.

He leads the league in wins, shutouts, and saves, and has an almost 70% win percentage for his career.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Hall - Backlund - Tkachuk

That would be a sight.
See what I mean.... so much harder to defend against that. As good as Frolik has been here and as thankful for his time that I am no one can dispute how much more lethal of a team we become by slotting Hall into the top 6. I think we could experiment with Bennett too at that point to see if we could jumpstart his draft pedigree.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Hall - Bennett - Tkachuk

Incredibly skilled, physical and fast 2nd line that would create absolute chaos for the opposition to try and defend against while allowing Peters to get more favourable matchups throughout games as well and if Bennett isn’t a fit there’s no doubting Backlund’s ability to play with elite players IMO.

Here’s to hoping!

didn't get to watch this game, but it sounds like one of their better efforts this season. the level of the opposition is pretty low, but the devils just beat the jets and also beat the hurricanes last sunday. they have a chance to win every night.

They looked very much like a lottery team. Hall must be getting deja vu.

So Devils have a dilemma on their hands. Keep Hall so they can win the draft lottery again and lose him for nothing, or trade him for more picks but lose out on that first overall pick.

Did I hear correctly that the Devils ran Hall, Hischier and Hughes as a line at one point? Crazy to have a line of all 1st OA with names starting with H.

Good game tonight.

Team just kept playing the same way even when they fell behind and kept pushing.

Most complete effort of the season IMO.

Looking at how strong Derek Ryan has been playing, putting up strong numbers for 3rd line, it would be interesting to see him get time on the 2nd line with Tkachuk and also the chemistry he has with Mang.

I love Backlund and his two way game but right now I ride with the hot hand in Derek.

I don't think I'd change a thing with Ryan. He works well on unassuming, workmanlike lines and I've seen a lot of good chemistry between him and Bennett.

Backlund is slowly coming around. I'd keep him with Tkachuk for now, although I'm not sure how much I like Mangiapane on that line. I still think Frolik is probably the best fit, given how well Mangiapane works with Ryan.

Ryan is still such an underrated glue guy and playmaker. I think he's one of the Flames' most important players.

I would love to post a gif of the old guys dancing that they showed on the jumbotron after one of the goals tonight.

I I think the Flames should step up and trade for Hall as a rental and not sign him.
Not sure how they would fit him under cap this season, but I'm sure it's possible.
