Sometimes you paint a masterpiece. Sometimes you paint the barn. Regardless of the process, the painting gets done. Way to go boys!! Big road win!!

The 1st line has moved into the team’s MVP for me this season. Smith has also been terrific and even in this game. But Johnny’s line won us this game and without them performing as consistently as they have I think we’re sitting right next to Arizona. They deserve massive credit for the continued stellar play in both zones.
The bad though is still bad. The bottom 6 line almost cost us this game and until they start to drive some play and in both zones, I just don’t see how this team can be an upper echelon team. The penalty kill was lucky at the end there; they give up so many high danger chances and have been bad all season long. They need major major reconstruction because without Mike Smith saving their butts half the time, this could be a historically bad penalty kill.

The Heat are playing the greasers affiliate at 7pm Calgary time tonight as well. The Heat beat them last night 4-2 so hopefully they can double up on them.

I think we really missed Tkachuk today. The Backlund line wasn’t nearly as effective today as they normally are. I know people will say Brouwer was likely the reason, but I think Tkachuk and the subtle effective plays he makes on both sides of the ice really make the difference. Glad we were able to muster up the win with out him, but glad he’ll be back next game because it could’ve easily ended up as a regulation loss.

Monahan might score 40+ Goals.
Gaudreau might put up 100+ points.
What an excellent #1 centre and #1 LW we have.

Can't be #1, they don't even make 20 million a year together.

I think that line is just "good" now. It's where we want a 3rd line. They'll score, maybe not every game, but at least put up chances night in and night out. It's perfect.
