I am fine with you holding onto mine for now, as the season might materialize eventually.

For sure, just hold onto it for now. I would guess we'll see a shortened season run at some point. If it eventually gets cancelled we can figure out something. I'd be fine rolling the money over to the following season. I've been on Calgary Puck for this long, I suspect I'll still be here in another year!

Phew, I ALMOST sent $10 the other day! I'm mostly just lazy, but if we get a season I'll send it.

Speaking of getting a season, they should do a virtual season, all the drivers in sims racing the tracks. Not quite the same, but it would be something...

That'd be awesome. And have them all in a big group chat so we can listen to them trash talk each other.

Max and Lando already do. I think it’s not such a crazy idea actually. Not a full grid maybe, but a bunch of the guys are active on iracing or whatever they play.

No F1 until at least May.

Quote:
Following the cancellation of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix and the postponement of the races in China, Bahrain and Vietnam, Formula 1 and governing body the FIA have said they now 'expect' the 2020 season to begin at the end of May - though this will be regularly reviewed.

https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...uzVuu7lEa.html

End of May, Monaco is May 23, so currently that would be their target. Sure hope they can fit Vietnam and Zandvoort in this season, was hoping to see those new tracks!

Season 3 of Drive to Survive is going to be awfully boring.

The first episode however is probably going to be extremely interesting. I can imagine that the paddock was very tense.

Just saw a rumour the 2021 rule changes may be delayed to 2022 to save costs.

Can confirm. They're also moving the 3 week break forward to now and adding an extra week at the end. I know TR is going to enforce mandatory holidays, under quarantine, this week. They're also laying off a bunch of contractors. So no new mechanical projects for a few months for most/all teams.

Formula 1® has today announced the launch of a new F1 Esports Virtual Grand Prix series, featuring a number of current F1 drivers. The series has been created to enable fans to continue watching Formula 1 races virtually, despite the ongoing COVID-19 situation that has affected this season’s opening race calendar.

The virtual races will run in place of every postponed Grand Prix, starting this weekend with the Virtual Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday March 22. Every subsequent race weekend will see the postponed real-world Formula 1 race replaced with a Virtual Grand Prix*, with the initiative currently scheduled to run until May**.

The only downside is they’re playing the code masters game. They should’ve done real sim. That being said it’s a fun single player game.

Sooo, with no end in sight to Covid I ended up caving in to my inner man-child and getting a PS4 racing sim rig. Should arrive tomorrow / tuesday. Just curious if anyone else is sim racing F1 2019?? What other racing games are people using?? Tips / tricks to help get going??

It's literally been decades since Ive owned a gaming system. We had the original Wii and before that was the original Nintendo...lolol.

Not really any F1 update that I've seen. My buddy at AT is sending me daily Italy updates.

Nice. Mind sharing exactly what equipment you got? I'm thinking of doing the same myself.
